The Appointment Ceremony and Forum for MBA External Tutors of BNUBS Were Successfully Held

On the morning of November 17, 2024, the MBA External Tutor Appointment Ceremony and External Tutor Forum of BNUBS were grandly held in the Lecture Hall of Yingdong Academic Hall. This event brought together 64 outstanding individuals from various industries who joined the MBA program of the School as external tutors, including 30 new tutors who joined for the first time and 34 senior tutors who were renewed. Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, Hu Conghui, Associate Dean, Zhou Jianghua, Director of MBA Education Center, Li Jing, Associate Director and Wang Lulu, Associate Director, all teachers of MBA Education Center, Li Xuefeng, a representative of MBA freshmen, and representatives of MBA students in 2023 and 2024 witnessed this important moment together. The appointment ceremony was presided over by Hu Conghui, Associate Dean of BNUBS.

In his opening speech, Qi Yudong warmly welcomed all external tutors and expressed deep gratitude for their support of the MBA program. Qi Yudong pointed out that MBA education occupies an extremely important position in the talent cultivation system of the School, especially in strengthening practical teaching. This is not only a difficult task, but also a common goal pursued by MBA education worldwide. Qi Yudong emphasized that the participation of external tutors will greatly enrich students' practical experience, broaden their horizons, and also help improve the overall level of MBA education in the School. Due to the rapid development of digital economy and artificial intelligence technology, MBA education is facing new opportunities and challenges. Qi Yudong calls on external tutors and Schools to work closely together to cultivate more excellent professional managers who can adapt to the requirements of the new era.

On site, Hu Conghui announced the list of new off campus tutors, and Qi Yudong presented appointment letters to each of them, symbolizing that they have officially become partners of the MBA program of BNUBS, shouldering the responsibility of guiding future business leaders.

Xie Qin, a tutor from Gaotu Education Group Beijing School, spoke as a representative of three consecutive terms of appointment as an off campus tutor. She first emphasized how external tutors should use their professional practical experience to guide students based on MBA students' career plans and the training objectives of BNUBS. Professor Xie believed that the role of off campus mentors is not only to impart knowledge, but more importantly, to establish trust and effective communication with students, respect and inspire their autonomy and creativity.

She further elaborated on how off campus tutors should share the latest developments and trends in the industry with students, provide practical insights, and help students maintain competitiveness in the constantly changing business environment. Professor Xie emphasized the importance of cultivating students' comprehensive problem-solving skills, encouraging them to examine their work and career development from both macro and micro perspectives, in order to develop their ability to analyze and solve problems from multiple angles.

Li Xuefeng, a 2024 student from Beijing Normal University, spoke as a student representative, stating that off campus tutors are crucial for students to enhance their practical skills, bridge the gap between theory and practice, strengthen their practical awareness, and gain profound insights into enterprise operations and industry development. Li Xuefeng shared his personal experience of career transformation, emphasizing that a tutor's words may have a profound impact on students, and his experience reflects the guiding role of mentors in career development. He paid tribute to the external tutors present, believing that their professional achievements, practical experience, and life wisdom are valuable resources for students. Li Xuefeng also thanks the School leaders and MBA center teachers for their careful organization, which enables students to exchange and learn with excellent external tutors. With the values of "tolerance, diversity, innovation, and responsibility," Li Xuefeng inspires students to continuously improve on the platform of Beijing Normal University and jointly shape China's new business civilization.

After the appointment ceremony, the MBA External tutors Forum immediately kicked off, which was divided into two sub venues to be held simultaneously. The first group was held in the second lecture hall of Yingdong Academic Hall, presided over by Hu Conghui. The second group was held in the lecture hall of Yingdong Academic Hall, hosted by Zhou Jianghua.

At the forum, the host first outlined the development history of MBA programs and the achievements of off campus tutorship programs. Subsequently, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the theme of "How to better leverage the role of external tutors in MBA education". The participants actively spoke up and put forward many forward-looking and practical suggestions aimed at strengthening the interaction between tutors and students, optimizing teaching methods, and promoting the close integration of theory and practice. Everyone unanimously hoped that external tutors can actively fulfill their responsibilities in future collaborations, not only providing professional guidance to students, but also helping them expand their network of contacts, laying a solid foundation for their long-term career development.

The successful holding of this appointment ceremony and forum not only deepens the cooperation between schools and enterprises, but also injects new vitality into the continuous innovation and development of MBA programs, which will promote the coordinated development of industry university research and make the MBA brand of Beijing Normal University more beautiful and colorful.
