The "Understanding China" Trip of International Students from Our School - The Social Practice Activity in Jiangxi Came to a Successful Conclusion

From April 21st to 25th, 2025, international students from the English - medium programs of BNUBS embarked on a five - day, four - night "Understanding China" trip - a social practice activity in Jiangxi. Thirteen international students from 13 countries, led by foreign professors from BNUBS, Mr. Hwy - Chang Moon, the president of aSSIST University in South Korea, and Associate Professor Zheng Feihu, delved into the cultural cities and cutting - edge enterprises in Jiangxi to experience the unique charm of Chinese society, economy, and culture.

Day 1: Arrival in Nanchang

On April 21st, the international students arrived in Nanchang. Their first stop was the Jiangxi Tourism Group. Under the personal guidance of Deputy Secretary Yu Junfeng of the group, the students gained an in - depth understanding of the group's development history, business segments, and achievements. They clearly witnessed the magnificent transformation of Jiangxi's tourism industry from resource development to industrial integration and had a profound understanding of the transformation and upgrading of Jiangxi's tourism industry.





Subsequently, Secretary Duan and Associate Secretary Yu of the Jiangxi Tourism Group held a 40 - minute discussion with the teachers and students from Beijing Normal University, exploring how Jiangxi's tourism industry can grow and thrive based on its unique endowments and highlighting the brand effect of Jiangxi's red and green industries with the slogan "Scenery Here is Extraordinary". From an academic perspective, Teacher Zheng Feihu proposed the construction of the group's tourism ecological system and standard - setting, the improvement of the core quality and optimization of the Jiangxi tourism service value chain, and shared the economic logic behind the internet - fame phenomenon of Nanchang city. Secretary Duan expressed great anticipation for future diversified cooperation with BNUBS in areas such as industrial development, cultural innovation, and international research and study tours.

Day 2: Looking Back at History

On April 22nd, the international students stepped into the Haihunhou Site Museum. They were immersed in the Han - Dynasty culture and were impressed by the exquisite craftsmanship of the ancients. During the study tour of the Haihunhou Site, the governance mechanism of imperial succession aroused great interest among the international students. Through discussions combining Chinese and foreign historical cases, paradoxical phenomena such as "transmission of power to the worthy vs. transmission to relatives" and "generational conflicts" enabled the international students to have a deeper understanding of the historical wisdom behind China's long - standing culture.

In the afternoon, the international students went to the August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall. The museum's explanation was centered around the theme of "If Cultural Relics Could Speak", vividly unlocking the vivid details of the Nanchang Uprising. From "Rising in Crisis" to "Great Decision - Making" and then to "Firing the First Shot", the exhibited cultural relics and detailed materials retraced the magnificent revolutionary years, enabling the international students to deeply experience the firm ideals and beliefs and indomitable revolutionary spirit of the revolutionary predecessors.

At the end of the itinerary, the international students climbed onto the Tengwang Pavilion. Leaning against the railing and looking into the distance, they had a panoramic view of the construction achievements of Nanchang city. The antique - style decorations inside the pavilion and modern exhibition methods complemented each other, vividly reproducing the magnificent scene described by Wang Bo as "The setting sun and the solitary wild duck fly together; the autumn waters merge with the boundless sky into one color". Here, the international students appreciated the profound cultural heritage of this thousand - year - old pavilion and experienced the unique charm of the poetic Ganpo land.

Day 3: The Rhyme of Ceramic Craftsmanship

On April 23rd, the international students started their trip to Jingdezhen. Their first stop was the Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum. Under the guidance of the docent, they traced the historical evolution of the thousand - year - old ceramic culture through different dynasties and admired numerous ancient ceramic treasures up close. The students were shocked by the exquisite craftsmanship and painstaking efforts of the artisans behind each piece of porcelain and deeply felt the profound heritage of Chinese ceramic culture.

Subsequently, the international students visited the Fuliang Ancient County Government Office, which enjoys the reputation of "the No.1 Yamen in South of the Yangtze River". Here, they seemed to travel back in time to ancient times. Through vivid skits, they learned about the office scenes of ancient officials and the rich county - government culture, and had an in - depth understanding of the historical evolution of the county - government office and the ancient judicial system, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the operation of ancient yamen. This visit not only enriched the international students' historical knowledge but also enabled them to have a deeper understanding of the broad and profound Chinese traditional culture.

As the day's itinerary was coming to an end, the international students entered the Taoxichuan Cultural and Creative Block to explore the integration of ceramic culture and modern creativity. Based on "the integration of industry and education" and guided by "innovation and entrepreneurship", through the performances and exhibitions of artists from three generations (senior, middle - aged, and young), Jingdezhen, an ancient city with a thousand - year - old history, has radiated new vitality in the new era and has become a gathering place for ceramic creativity loved by young people.

Day 4: Industry Insights

On the morning of the fourth day, the international students visited the Jingdezhen Ceramic Group and had an in - depth understanding of the glorious achievements of "Hongye Ceramics". They were amazed by the highest level of Chinese daily - use ceramics represented by "Hongye Ceramics" and witnessed the exquisite ceramics customized for significant historical occasions, feeling the outstanding status and influence of Chinese ceramics on the international stage. Subsequently, the international students came to Jingdezhen Changyou Technology Co., Ltd. to experience the smart tourism service of the "Changyou Jingdezhen" APP. During the communication with the company's CEO, everyone had a heated discussion around the development trend of smart tourism. The international students actively asked questions, and the CEO answered them one by one, creating a warm interactive atmosphere. This visit and communication enabled the international students to have a deeper understanding of the digital transformation of the cultural and tourism industry and broadened their horizons for future cross - cultural exchanges and cooperation.

In the afternoon, the international students went to the Jiangxi Helicopter Science and Technology Museum, where they got a close look at various helicopter models, including civilian, military, and rescue helicopters. They learned in detail about the design features, technical parameters, and application scenarios of each model and had a comprehensive understanding of the diversity and wide range of uses of helicopters. The rich models and interactive displays in the museum enabled them to deeply understand the flight principles and operation procedures of helicopters.

Day 5: Red Inheritance and Academic Exchange

On the last day of the itinerary, the international students came to the Red Culture Education Hall of Jiangxi Normal University. Professor Huang Enhua, the former Party secretary of Jiangxi Normal University, personally led the introduction, allowing the students to be immersed in the red culture. Subsequently, the international students and the teachers and students of BNUBS listened to an academic lecture titled "AI and Future Management" given by Professor Hwy - Chang Moon, adding the finishing touch to this research and study trip.

This research and practice activity presented a diverse picture of Jiangxi to the international students of BNUBS. From historical culture to modern industry, from natural scenery to scientific and technological frontiers, the international students witnessed the vibrant vitality of Jiangxi in the economic, cultural, and scientific and technological fields. Under the influence of Chinese traditional culture and the impact of modern technology, they broadened their international horizons, deepened their understanding and respect for diverse cultures. The activity came to a successful conclusion, but the international students' enthusiasm for exploring Chinese culture remains strong. They will continue to forge ahead on the path of learning with this precious experience and will surely be more enthusiastic in engaging in cross - cultural exchanges and cooperation in the future, sharing Chinese stories with the world.
