The 2024 Beijing Normal University Conference on Behavioral and Experimental Economics Was Successfully Held

On November 2-3, 2024, the 2024 Beijing Normal University Conference on Behavioral and Experimental Economics was successfully held at the Jingshi Building. The conference was hosted by BNUBS, and attracted more than 120 participants from dozens of well-known universities at home and abroad, including Peking University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Jiaotong University, Northeast University of Finance and Economics, Northeast Normal University, Southeast University, Fudan University, Ladyburgh University, University of London, Nankai University, University of Nottingham in Ningbo, Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, Shandong University, Wuhan University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University of Technology and Business, Renmin University of China, Central University of Finance and Economics, including more than 40 expert and scholar speakers and nearly 80 young teachers and graduate students from all over the country.



This meeting was convened and organized by Professor He Haoran and Professor Zhang Boyu, co directors of the Game Decision and Behavior Research Center at BNUBS. Before the conference began, Professor Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of BNUBS, delivered a speech welcoming the arrival of all scholars and wishing the conference a smooth and successful convening. The Conference on Behavioral and Experimental Economics at Beijing Normal University, as a platform for promoting academic research and development, has played an important bridging role in facilitating communication and cooperation among scholars in related fields.

This conference has a main venue and three parallel venues, and more than 40 scholars among the attendees gave academic presentations. The reports covered topics such as the evolution of human decision-making models, air pollution and human-computer interaction, women's leadership development, information ambiguity and asset prices, the role of observability of information disclosure rules in Bayesian persuasion contexts, reaction time and hidden economic variables, preventive war decision-making in the context of endogenous power transfer, behavioral responses to extortion or oppression, gender differences, cooperation and reciprocity, and more. The attendees had a lively exchange on the research results presented by the speakers, which was easy to understand and the discussion atmosphere was lively on site. The successful convening of this conference will help strengthen the communication and cooperation between BNUBS and various domestic and foreign universities, and promote the further development of behavioral and experimental economics research.
