BNUBS Held an Exchange Activity for Academic Tutoring and Comprehensive Assistance Workshops for Students in Need

To implement the fundamental task of cultivating people with moral integrity and fully implement the "Three-Full" education concept, and to effectively enhance the effectiveness and pertinence of assistance for students with financial, academic, and psychological difficulties, the Party committee of the School launched a series of work on academic assistance workshops for students in need this semester. On the afternoon of April 2, 2025, an exchange activity for academic tutoring and comprehensive assistance workshops for students in need was successfully held in Conference Room 1710, Houzhu Building. Zhou Caiyun, Director of the Student Financial Aid Management Center of the Party Committee's Student Work Department, Chen Rongrong, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee of the Faculty of Geographical Science, Guo Yating, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School, Ran Xin, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Han Lili, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee of BNUBS, and student financial aid counselors from the above-mentioned schools participated in this workshop. The workshop was chaired by Han Lili, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee of the School.

The workshop focused on exchanges and discussions regarding academic tutoring and comprehensive assistance for students in need.



Associate Secretary Han Lili first introduced to the teachers the original intention and background of establishing the academic assistance workshop for students in need in BNUBS. Considering the correlation between financial difficulties, academic difficulties, and interpersonal adaptation problems among students, the School hopes to promote the academic improvement and all-round development of students in need through a series of academic tutoring and comprehensive assistance activities. Subsequently, Gao Jingjing, the School's financial aid specialist, introduced the existing solid foundation of the assistance work for students in need in the School. This includes economic assistance such as self-established scholarships and grants, various three-dimensional academic tutoring and enhancement activities like final - exam guidance, exchanges with senior students, the "Undergraduate Climbing Plan", the "Postgraduate 'Bo Yan Qing Jiao' Plan", study groups, and lecture forums, as well as volunteer practical activities such as "Praising the New Era, Walking Hand in Hand Day and Night". She also provided a comprehensive introduction to the demand survey results for students in need this time, the next-step work plan, and the confusion and problems encountered in the work.



The participating teachers shared their experiences and practices in activities such as academic assistance, psychological adaptation, self - confidence and self - improvement, career planning, and practical exchanges for students in need, combined with the relevant work carried out in their respective schools. They also discussed issues such as how to attract more students to participate, how to provide more policy support, and how to stimulate the internal motivation of students in need. Teacher Zhou Caiyun fully affirmed the work exploration and innovative activities carried out by each school to assist the development of students in need. She also introduced activities being promoted by the Financial Aid Management Center, such as portraits of students in need, the "Growth Nourishment Workshop" of Beijing Normal University, and work - study training. She hoped that the support provided by the departments could reflect the characteristics of the school and lean more towards developmental financial aid.

In the next step, the School will, in combination with the discussion results of this workshop, rely on the academic tutoring and comprehensive assistance workshops for students in need to continue to deepen and solidify the assistance work for students in need and enrich the forms of activity organization. In the next stage, the student affairs team of the School will further explore innovative work such as subject - specific tutoring, advantage - exploration group counseling, work - study AI skills training courses, academic progress award incentives, and diversified evaluation systems. It will continue to explore and improve the assistance work mechanism for the academic development and all - round improvement of students in need, and effectively promote the academic improvement and all - round development of students in need.
