Hu Conghui, Associate Dean of BNUBS, presided over the lecture, and more than 80 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students from the School attended.

Guest Speaker: Qi Yongxin

Mr. Qi first introduced the development history and main business of BOE Technology Group. He then explored the connotation of digital transformation through questions, pointing out that its essence is a management reform pursuing long-term stable and high-quality development. He noted that the three core tasks of enterprise operations are product development, product sales, and product problem-solving, explaining the operational management system model. Subsequently, Mr. Qi summarized the common reasons for the failure of digital transformation in the industry and the impact of the lack of enterprise architecture. Through internal and external needs, he explained why BOE pursued digital transformation and discussed the expected benefits of the transformation in terms of customer, employee, and manager satisfaction, as well as operational efficiency. He introduced BOE's digital transformation process starting from 2019, elaborating on the eight key initiatives of digital transformation and the methodology summarized in practice - the "Three-Stage Seven-Step Method", which proceeds from business architecture, architectural organization, organizational process, data standardization, process ITization, data valueization, to data visualization. Through examples, he vividly explained how common collaboration conflicts among sales, R&D, and production can be solved through digital transformation, emphasizing that cross-departmental teams are the core of a process-oriented organization.

Finally, Mr. Qi shared insights on transformation, including that the senior management team should take the lead, business should be dominant with IT support, transformation requires strong initiative, and cultural promotion is an eternal theme. After the lecture, Mr. Qi actively interacted with students, answering their questions.

Students found Mr. Qi's speech highly rewarding. The lecture analyzed the essence of digital transformation and expounded on how to carry out transformation by analyzing common causes of failure. It concluded successfully amid warm applause from faculty and students.
