Time :2026-07-02

On the morning of June 29, 2026, Beijing Normal University Business School (BNUBS) convened a forum for graduate representatives of the Class of 2026 in Conference Room 1722 of the Rear Main Building. The meeting was attended by Professor Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS; Sun Zhijun, Party Secretary; Jiang Jie, Associate Dean; Han Lili and Wang Jun, Associate Party Secretaries; together with homeroom teacher representatives and counsellors. A total of 19 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral student representatives participated.

Dean Qi Yudong delivered a special Party lecture on fostering and practicing a correct understanding of work performance. He pointed out that a sound attitude toward performance serves as the fundamental code of conduct and guideline for everyone. As graduates step into the workplace, they must fasten the "first button" of their professional lives from the very beginning. He emphasized that genuine achievements stem from solid work rather than superficial appearances; practitioners must refine trivial tasks and deliver substantial outcomes for major undertakings. Achievements lie in long-term sustainability instead of instant results. They come from courage to take responsibility rather than empty fame, requiring dedication to duties and academic integrity. True accomplishments rest on integrity and self-discipline rather than vanity, demanding strict observance of rules and a firm bottom line. Furthermore, valid performance prioritizes the wellbeing of the people over currying favour with superiors, with improving people’s lives regarded as the utmost achievement. He encouraged graduates to carefully weigh the seven vital accounts in life. Guided by a correct understanding of performance, they should stay grounded, forge ahead steadily, and contribute to building a strong country and advancing national rejuvenation in their respective posts.

Representatives of undergraduates, masters and doctoral students spoke in turn. Doctoral candidates brought forward issues including limited career pathways, insufficient academic exchange opportunities, inadequate training on AI practical skills and scheduling conflicts for thesis writing. They suggested broadening career guidance, building exchange platforms and optimizing training arrangements. Master’s students raised demands concerning civil service examination training resources, fragmented information release and administrative deadlines, hoping the School would strengthen employment support, unify information dissemination and adopt flexible graduation arrangements. Undergraduates put forward proposals on curriculum development, interdisciplinary teaching and career planning education.Faculty representatives responded to students’ opinions and suggestions patiently and thoroughly, resolving their doubts. They pledged to continuously improve all institutional work based on the feedback, and welcomed graduates to keep in touch and revisit the School.

Party Secretary Sun Zhijun delivered concluding remarks. First of all, he extended sincere congratulations to all graduates who have successfully completed their studies and are embarking on promising careers. He encouraged them that amid profound changes unseen in a century, they should embrace shifts of the times with uplifting spirits and a calm mind, proactively learn and apply digital technologies, and navigate a future moving from certainty to uncertainty. He exhorted graduates to carry forward the fine traits of BNUBS students — diligence, pragmatism and integrity, uphold a down-to-earth work ethic, and sustain the inherent sense of mission shared by all BNU members. He noted that the School will always remain a reliable spiritual harbour for its alumni, and looked forward to their frequent visits and exchanges.

This forum not only offered graduates a platform to voice thoughts and submit suggestions, but also provided valuable references for the School’s future talent cultivation and student affairs. BNUBS will earnestly absorb students’ feedback, continuously optimize all work and support more students to realize their full potential.
