The BNUBS International Students Academic Forum Was Successfully Convened

On June 11, 2026, the BNUBS International Students Academic Forum was successfully convened in Room 9406 of Jingshi Building. Three PhD candidates from the English-taught doctoral programs, hailing from Zambia, Morocco and Bangladesh, delivered thematic presentations on cutting-edge international academic topics based on their respective research fields. Associate Professors Xu Hui, Li Kun and Yu Jiajie from BNUBS were invited to the forum as distinguished commentators.

First, Zambian international student REAGAN KAPILYA presented a paper entitled An Evaluation of Foreign Direct Investment’s Role in Shaping Zambia’s Innovation Ecosystem: A Comparative Study of China and the United States’ Contributions to Economic Growth and Technology Spillovers. Closely aligned with core research frontiers in international economics and trade, his research adopted an innovative analytical perspective and demonstrated solid theoretical grounding and rigorous research literacy. Next, Moroccan international student MOUATAMID HAJAR shared academic insights under the theme Heterogeneous Corporate Networks and the Prediction of China’s Bond Credit Risks. Centered on the frontiers of theoretical economics and financial engineering, she put forward innovative viewpoints concerning the practical application and iterative improvement of core economic models, rendering her research of great reference value to academia. Lastly, Bangladeshi international student ROMANA AKHTER delivered a systematic discourse on The Impacts of Crisis Management Strategies on the Financial Performance of the Real Estate Sector: Empirical Evidence from Bangladesh. Her presentation featured a tightly structured logical framework and in-depth empirical analysis, fully embodying outstanding academic critical thinking and persistent research dedication.

 

Presentations Delivered by English-Track Doctoral International Students in Sequence

 

During the expert commentary session, Associate Professor Xu Hui provided professional and meticulous academic guidance covering three core dimensions: research framework construction, methodology selection and empirical data analysis. Associate Professor Li Kun spoke highly of the academic value and practical implications of the three research projects, and put forward constructive optimization proposals for deepening research contents and expanding analytical dimensions to facilitate long-term project advancement. In strict accordance with international standards for academic paper writing, Associate Professor Yu Jiajie offered actionable revision suggestions regarding linguistic refinement, logical restructuring and standardized presentation of research outputs. Balancing affirmative recognition of existing achievements with targeted improvements for identified deficiencies, the comprehensive comments clarified clear directions for the students’ subsequent research endeavors.

 

Faculty Delivering Academic Comments

The successful staging of this academic forum not only showcased the proactive exploratory spirit and innovative academic demeanor of BNUBS international students, but also established a high-caliber platform for academic exchange between faculty and students. In-depth dialogue and interactive discussions further ignited international students’ enthusiasm for scholarly research and broadened their academic horizons. The event has also exerted positive effects on elevating the quality of international talent cultivation and advancing cross-border academic exchanges and cooperation at BNUBS.
