The Department of International Economics and Trade Held a Seminar on the Revision of Undergraduate Training Program

On the morning of June 10, 2022, the Department of International Economics and Trade of BNUBS held a "Revision Seminar of Undergraduate Talent Training Program for International Economics and Trade" on the Tencent Conference platform. The conference was chaired by Wei Hao, Director of the Department of International Trade. Faculty members, including Zhao Chunming, Qu Ruxiao, Zhong Xin, Zheng Feihu, Sun Meng, Dai Mi, Zhang Ruixin, Yu Jiajie and Kong Haiyang attended the seminar.

  

First of all, Mr. Wei Hao introduced the work progress and basic arrangement of the Department since the revision of the undergraduate training program. Combined with the recent adjustment of the training mode of international trade major, that is, after the cancellation of Hande experimental class, he focused on the challenges faced by the undergraduate training of international trade major in the new stage. That is, in the new situation, how to reform the training mode, how to expand the direction of the major, how to shape the new characteristics and new highlights of the major, how to keep pace with The Times, and how to serve the major needs of the country. Based on this premise, Mr. Wei Hao further explained the development trend of this major, comprehensively compares the characteristics of the past training mode and the traditional training mode of this major, and on this basis, puts forward three feasible directions for the revision of the training scheme, namely, focusing on the development of digital trade characteristics, inherits the advantages of multilingual teaching in the experimental class of Hande and returning to the traditional training mode. He hopes that they can pool our wisdom, improve the quality of training, condense professional characteristics, and do a good job in the reform of a new round of training program.

 

 

Then, Teacher Zhao Chunming made a detailed analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the above three programs from the perspectives of discipline development, school policies, and professional review, and proposed a new direction of integrating resources and cooperating with outside institutions. Around the above four directions, the participating teachers expressed their opinions and launched a heated discussion. After full discussion, they reached a preliminary consensus on the revision direction of this major training program. First, they should continue to give full play to the advantages of this major in English teaching and highlight the international characteristics. Second, strengthen the construction of relevant courses in the field of digital technology of this major, improve students' interest in learning, keep pace with The Times, and cultivate talents urgently needed by the country. Thirdly, the course of literature reading is added to encourage students to get in touch with academic research as early as possible, so as to enhance their research ability and enhance their understanding and application of the course content of their major.

  

 

Finally, Mr. Wei Hao made a summary of the meeting and determined the revision direction of the multi-dimensional undergraduate training program after synthesizing the opinions of the participating teachers. On the basis of the results of this study, the Department of International Trade will further refine the training objectives, optimize the curriculum, and continue to explore the new mode of talent training in the new stage in practice.
