“Future Top Business Negotiators Contest” was held by International Business Negotiation Committee of Chinese Research Council of Modern Management. It includes the Chinese and English competitions and has been held for 15 years. It is Sponsored by China University of Political Science and Law and Beijing International Studies University in 2020, co-organized by Tsinghua University Press and Beijing Zhilian Rapid Technology Development Co.ltd. Affected by the epidemic, the contest was conducted online to simulate negotiation through the Internet.

The first stage of the competition was to write a negotiation plan. After getting the competition cases, the students began to prepare for the competition. Chinese and English group students discussed together and asked teachers in time. They first analyzed the case, then learned the relevant knowledge, and then developed the negotiation strategy, and finally submitted the negotiation plan to the organizing committee.

Two groups of students entered the next round. Due to the epidemic, this year's competition was online simulation negotiation. The Chinese and English groups read the cases again, analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of the negotiation parties, found out their own core demands, and worked out a complete negotiation plan. Then, the students divided the roles, collected information according to their own roles, prepared the manuscript, and asked teachers about certain problems. After round after round of discussion and modification, students have been able to blend in the characters. Before the competition, students in the Chinese group had simulated negotiation, which made them more familiar with the whole negotiation process and clarified some negotiation skills.

From November 7th -8th , the promotion event of 2020 “Future Top Business Negotiators Contest (English)” was held in Beijing International Studies University. With 20 teams from 16 universities in China and South Korea, there were 10 exciting simulation negotiations. Students from the English group of our school fought against the second team of UIBE for 40 minutes in a heated simulated negotiation, and finally the English group won the Second Prize.

From November 14th to 15th, the promotion event of  2020 “Future Top Business Negotiators Contest (Chinese)” was held at China University of Political Science and Law. There were 14 teams from 11 universities, and there were seven exciting simulated negotiations. The Chinese group played against the second team of Beijing International Studies University. In the 40-minute simulated negotiation, the Chinese group performed well and finally won the national final with the second place.

After entering the final competition, the students of the Chinese group prepared more carefully and actively. The content of the final case and negotiation was different from that before. The Chinese group started a new round of case discussion, summed up the experience and lessons of the promotion competition, and gained a new understanding of the whole business negotiation. As the final competition approached, the Chinese group discussed for seven or eight hours every day. After the discussion, they would revise their manuscripts. In the last few days, they began to conduct internal simulation negotiations to further familiarize themselves with the overall process.

On December 5th, the 2020 “Future Top Business Negotiators Contest (Chinese)” was held in China University of Political Science and Law. The competition was broadcast on the Internet simultaneously.
