2020 Beijing Normal University Conference of Experimental Economics was Successfully Held

From November 7, 2020 to November 8, 2020, 2020 Beijing Normal University Conference of Experimental Economics, hosted by BNUBS, was held successfully in 9406, JINGSHI HOTEL. This forum attracted over 70 participators who were from Monash University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Sun Yat-Sen University, Nankai University, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shen Zhen), and Beijing Normal University. Among them, there were more than 20 experts and scholars in the field of experimental economics and nearly 50 young teachers and graduate students from all over the country engaged in academic exchange and discussion in BNUBS. The speakers included a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Science Foundation, a young Yangtze River Scholar, there recipients of Science Foundation for Outstanding Youth of National Natural Science Foundation of China.

The conference was convened by Professor He Hanran and Professor Zhang Boyu, Directors of the Research Center for Game Decision-Making and Behavior of BNUBS. Before the conference, Cui Xuegang, Associate Dean of BNUBS, made a speech and extended a warm welcome to all the scholars. Professor Cui first summarized the great progress they made in the past year, including paper publication, discipline construction, teaching reform, co-construction and expansion, etc. Then he pointed out that in the transition from high speed growth to high quality growth, experimental methods showed their advantages, and the development of behavioral economics and experimental economics in China would change from catch-up development to innovative development. Professor Cui expressed the hope that more high-quality academic activities could be organized to enhance exchanges among scholars and congratulated on the smooth opening of the forum.

After that, 20 scholars presented their papers. These papers included topics like the spillover effect of behavior caused by price rise, the heterogeneity of risk appetite, loss avoidance theory in search behavior, the heterogeneity of teenagers' complex concept of equity, the influence mechanism of working memory ability on social cooperation, gender differences in lending enforcement mechanisms, appearance and people's social preferences and behavioral decisions and so on. The participants had in-depth exchange and heated discussion on the papers on display. The forum would help strengthen exchanges and cooperation between BNUBS and domestic and foreign institutions, and promote the development of behavioral and experimental economics in China.
