On the morning of September 20th, the matriculation ceremony of the Master of International Business of Class 2020 of BNU was held in the International Exchange Center of Zhuhai Campus. The ceremony was attended by Wang Shoujun, Associate President of BNU and Director of Management Committee of Zhuhai Campus; Sun Zhijun, Chairperson of BNUBS; Cai Hongbo, Associate Dean of BNUBS; Zhong Xin, Director of Professional Master Education Center; Professor Yang Chengyu, Professor Gong Jianghui, Professor Zheng Feihu and Doctor Hao Rubin of BNUBS; Representatives of faculty of International Business and Management Research Center of BNU (Zhuhai) and all International Business graduate students in the class of 2020. The ceremony was presided by Lu Dengyu, a teacher from the Professional Master Education Center of BNUBS.

At the beginning of the conference, teachers and students reflected upon a video on the 40th anniversary of BNUBS, which enabled them to have an in-depth understanding of the history, mission, vision and values of the School.

First of all, Associate President Wang Shoujun extended a warm welcome to the new students. In his speech, he combed patiently the development of BNUZ and added that under the guidance of “One Body Two Wings”, BNUZ was adhering to the principle of “internationalization, new mechanism, high standards” and striving for the goal of building a world-class university. Besides, BNUZ would also lead the new direction in the future talent cultivation. When it comes to professional training, he pointed out that the China-US trade relations was coming at a critical juncture. The two orientations “Trade and Investment Dispute Settlement” and “Operation and Management of Transnational Corporation” offered by the major were exactly the topics and opportunities for students to deal with the following trade frictions. He hoped that students should grasp the future in the face of great changes unseen in a century, constantly pursue the realization of social value and personal value in the process of professional learning, and become excellent students of BNU.

Sun Zhijun, Chairperson of BNUBS, introduced the overall situation of the School, the history of Master of International Business and the teaching team of International Trade. He put forward two hopes to the freshmen: the first was to become a qualified student of BNU, make a good plan during the postgraduate period, and understand the school motto of “learn, so as to instruct others; act, to serve as example to all.”; the second was to be a qualified manager. In the current trade situation, we should think about what kind of new economic and trade relations would be formed and what contribution we could make.

Professor Zheng Feihu of BNUBS gave a speech as the teacher's representative. He encouraged students not only to be witnesses of miracles in the magnificent picture of national development, but also to be builders of miracles. He also quoted the Analects of Confucius to give them three suggestions. One was to learn and practice; Second, “friends” come from afar; The third was not to be angry without knowing.

Huang Chengliang, Guangzhou Bank, and Ren Huizi, Country Garden, sent their sincere wishes to the new students by video. Guan Hao (now working at the Ministry of Finance) and Liu Yun (now working at Alibaba Group), the masters of International Business in 2014, recorded a video to send a message to the students: be diligent and learned, pursue excellence, and forge ahead in your study to become great talents.

Yang Xiaoyang, Master of International Business of Class 2020, gave a speech as the representative of freshmen. She said that as students of BNU, we should dedicate ourselves to the world and strive hard in our study. As students majoring in International Business, we also needed to have a keen insight from an international perspective, so that we could explore bravely in BNU, a platform for pursuing dreams, and found our unique and dream-pursuing selves.

Note: Since the beginning of school on September 15th, the Professional Master education Center of BNUBS has launched a series of activities to welcome the new students for the Class of 2020 International Business Master. These activities have not only brought students closer, strengthen the collective consciousness of students, enhanced class cohesion, but also helped students to get familiar with and adapt to the postgraduate life as soon as possible, so that each student could start in their best.
