On September 11th, 2020, at 7:00 PM, the opening ceremony of MBA freshmen of BNUBS was held in Room 101 of the No.2 Teaching Building. More than 300 faculty members and students participated in the ceremony, including Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS; Sun Zhijun, Chairperson of the Party Committee of BNUBS; Ge Yuliang, Deputy Chairperson of the Party Committee of BNUBS; Zhang Pingdan, Associate Dean of BNUBS; Cai Hongbo, Associate Dean of BNUBS; special guest: Cai Lei, Vice President of Jingdong Group; teachers’ representative Gao Minghua; Sun Chuan, Director of MBA Education Center; Zhou Jianghua, Deputy Director of MBA Education Center; Li Jing, Deputy Director of MBA Education Center; Wang Lulu, Deputy Director of MBA Education Center; the head teachers’ representative Zhu Yanchun, Wang Jun; teacher Su Xiaoyuan, Tian Lu, Chen Xiaojuan, Zhang Li, Yu Chen, Huo Qihong of MBA Education Center; MBA 2019 student representatives and all freshmen of Class of 2020. The ceremony was presided over by Zhang Pingdan, Associate Dean of BNUBS. According to the requirements of epidemic prevention, there were also two other sub-venues, which were Room 108 and Room 312 of the No.2 Teaching Building.

On behalf of the School, Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, first welcomed the new MBA students of the class of 2020. He said that good entrepreneurs should grasp the “five principles”, “five exiles”, “five quotients”, and “five relationships”. “learn, so as to instruct others; act, to serve as example to all.” This is what BNU expect of us. Qi also said that China is experiencing great changes that have not been seen in a century, and the uncertainty is becoming more and more normal. He hoped that students, while learning knowledge, making friends and getting degrees, should learn how to grow into excellent entrepreneurs, so that they can make contribution to the world and promote business and culture in the future.

Professor Gao Minghua delivered a speech on behalf of the teachers. He introduced the sound foundation of BNU in its history of over 100 years and the great masters and sages who have enriched literature and encouraged education. He said, “Students come here to learn, and the core of education is to learn.” He hoped that MBA students should be active learners and learn with an open mind, abide by the rules with integrity, so as to lay a solid foundation for the future when they would be in a broader platform to play what they have learned.

In his speech, our special guest Mr. Cai Lei, Vice President of Jingdong Group, shared the rapid development of his company in the digital era. He took Jingdong Digital Branch, Jingdong Health and other group enterprises or platforms as examples and expressed his hope that MBA students of BNU should embrace and even lead the wave of the digital era with positive attitudes and practical actions.

In their respectively speeches, Liu Zhuang Fei, the student representative of MBA 2019, and Chang Wenjing, the freshman representative of 2020 both said that MBA students of BNU would adhere to the school motto, live up to what they have learned, and work hard to make the university proud.

In the second half of the opening ceremony, Ge Yuliang, Deputy Chairperson of the Party Committee of BNUBS; Sun Chuan, Director of MBA Education Center, and Li Jing, Deputy Director of MBA Education Center, respectively introduced the school's student work, MBA teaching and training, expectations and requirements of MBA Education Center, and gave comprehensive guidance to students of Grade 2020 in their future learning process.Zhou Jianghua, Vice Director presided over the second half of the ceremony.

Under the strong support of the School, two “Dream Achieving” sessions were arranged during the ceremony. Before the ceremony, the new MBA students sent themselves a “slow message” card. By drawing cards, 30 freshmen were given an online course for “Famous Accountants” at a price of more than 7,000 yuan per student, and 30 were given custom-made bags for MBA students.

At 10:00 PM, the opening ceremony of BNUBS for MBA freshmen of Grade 2020 came to a successful conclusion.
