On the morning of June 8th, BNUBS held an expanded meeting of the joint conference between the party and the government in Room 1620 to discuss and arrange graduate students’ affairs. Members of the party and government leading group, class teachers in charge of the graduates, as well as administrators related to student work, international student work and educational affairs attended the meeting.

Party Secretary Sun Zhijun first conveyed the relevant spirit of the meeting of the middle-level cadres of the university which were held on the afternoon of June 4th about the deployment of graduates to return to campus. BNU has set up a Leading Group for Epidemic Prevention and Control and for Graduates back to Campus, which arranges relevant work in accordance with the requirements of Beijing Municipality and the Ministry of Education. For graduates of 2020 who are eligible to return to campus, they will return to campus in four batches in an orderly and voluntary manner starting from June 6th. The first batch of BNUBS students has been smoothly back to campus. Sun hopes the relevant offices and class teachers in charge of graduates continue to receive the subsequent three batches of students, as well as the prevention and control management after graduates back to campus and emergency management; establish a 24-hour duty system, to regularly visit students and pay close attention to their physical and mental health, as well as strengthen the supervision and guidance of public opinion, and take more measures to improve psychological counseling. Sun also said, for the employment of graduates, we should provide relevant services, actively broaden the information channels, strengthen employment guidance, strengthen the assistance to students with employment difficulties, and mobilize all staff to recommend employment opportunities. At last, Sun hope the members of the party and government leading group do their best to take the initiative to strengthen leadership and take precautions, especially for emergencies, to ensure that all the work is underway in a stable and orderly manner.  

Deputy Party Secretary Ge Yuliang briefed the relevant spirit of BNU's documents on graduates’ return to campus. He emphasized the risks of psychological pressure relief of students at school, the risk of infection of the students on the way back to campus, the daily management of students after their return to campus, and the psychosomatic monitoring of students stranded abroad, and the relevant task list of the class teachers in charge of graduates. He proposed some specific work requirements for the teachers such as holding a class meeting with a theme on safety education, fact-to-face communication with all students at school weekly, one-to-one conversation with specific students, and management and communication with students stranded abroad, etc.

Afterwards, the teachers briefed and discussed the work account requirements, daily protection, graduation arrangements for international students, non-graduates returning to campus and other problems they faced.

At last, Dean Qi Yudong summed it up. Dean Qi first thank all the teachers on behalf of the party and government leading group for their efforts on graduates return to campus and graduate employment. He pointed out that it is the top priority of our current work that making overall arrangements for epidemic prevention and control, the graduation education for the graduations after they back to school and the employment services. He hoped that each department and all the teachers implement all prevention and control measures strictly and carefully to escort the campus safety and graduation of the students.
