On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the School of Economics, the 2ed Lecture of Economics School 40th Anniversary Alumni Forum Was Successfully Held on May 30, 2019. At the invitation of the Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University and the Alumni Association of the School, Yang Zejun, who gained a master degree from our school in 2001 and a doctor degree in 2004, gave a wonderful speech to the teachers and students with the topic of "opportunities and challenges in the construction of 'Belt and Road'". Yang Zejun is the chairman of the board of supervisors of the Silk Road Fund Co., LTD. He has worked for a long time in the office of the central leading group for financial and economic affairs (now the Central Financial and Economic Commission), and participated in the formulation of central macro-policies and development plans and the drafting of important documents for many times. Yang Zejun first explained the significance of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. He points out, "Belt and Road" Initiative is the history of the development stage of the China reform and open policy choice, the effective carrier of China opening to the outside world in the new era and the important strategic layout, the inheritance and promotion of the ancient silk road, a realistic choice to deal with complex international situation in our country, and build a community of human destiny of global public goods.

Then, he introduced the strategic points of "Belt and Road". He said that the Belt and Road model is "five links"; the core is "three commons"; the key is "two overall planning"; the structure is "six corridors, six roads, many countries and ports". On this basis, Yang Zejun comprehensively introduced the latest progress of Belt and Road construction from the aspects of top-level design, international consensus, cooperation agreement, construction projects and support and guarantee system. Based on his rich working experience in the Silk Road Fund, he introduced in detail the investment scale, field, operation philosophy and investment method of the AIIB and the Silk Road Fund.

After that, Yang Zejun pointed out the opportunities and challenges faced by the construction of "Belt and Road". He said that the construction of it will change the trend of anti-globalization and stimulate new development. It will bring new development opportunities to the world economy. At the same time, it will lead to changes in the world political and economic pattern, which will bring many risks and challenges such as geopolitics, national conditions differentiation and enterprise internationalization. He also stressed that only by constantly strengthening theoretical innovation, system innovation, innovation, thinking innovation and public opinion innovation, can the construction of "Belt and Road" radiate greater vitality.
