On Feb 27, 2019, one of the world’s most influential global university ranking QS released its ranking for 2019 which covered a total of 48 disciplines of 5 large areas. The Beijing Normal University has altogether 24 disciplines on the ranking and the Accounting and Finance appeared on the list for the first time, entered the first 201-250 globally and ranked the 11th among the universities in the Chinese mainland. The discipline Business and Management Studies ranked among the first 251-300 globally and also placed at the 11th in the Chinese Mainland. Besides, the discipline Economics and Econometrics entered the 251-300 and ranked the 12th in the Chinese mainland.

Since 2011, the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) began to public its world university discipline rankings each year. The ranking is carried out from the four dimensions of academic peer evaluation, employment evaluation, citations per paper and H-Index (a high citation index for a collection of scientists in a university)
