The 150th Session of BNUBS Expert Forum was Successfully Held

On the evening of May 9, 2025, the 150th session of the "BNUBS Expert Forum" hosted by BNUBS, was held in Conference Room 1710 of Houzhu Building. The lecture specially invited Researcher Gao Ming from the Rural Economic Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as the keynote speaker. The lecture was presided over by Professor Zhang Qi of the School, attracting numerous faculty and students.

At the beginning, Researcher Gao Ming centered on the Decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Further Comprehensively Deepening Reforms and Promoting Chinese-style Modernization, deeply analyzing key points closely linked to rural reforms, including improving the promotion of new urbanization, consolidating the rural basic management system, perfecting the support system for strengthening, benefiting, and enriching agriculture and farmers, and deepening the reform of the land system.

Subsequently, Researcher Gao Ming led the audience in reviewing the course of agricultural and rural reforms in the 75 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. He divided this process into five key stages: the period of socialist revolution and construction, the period of economic system transformation, the mid-stage of industrialization, the critical period for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and the stage of comprehensively promoting rural revitalization. He systematically sorted out the characteristics and priorities of each stage, enabling the audience to have a clear understanding of the development context of China's rural reforms.

When discussing the experience of China's rural reforms, Researcher Gao Ming summarized valuable experiences such as "the Party flag guiding the direction of reform", "making steady progress with small steps and pilot projects first", and "patiently paving the way and advancing steadily". He pointed out that the remarkable achievements of China's rural reforms are inseparable from the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, scientific and reasonable reform strategies, and full protection of farmers' rights and interests.

Finally, Researcher Gao Ming expounded on the future prospects of rural reforms, including consolidating and improving the rural basic management system, deepening the reform of the rural land system, improving the institutional mechanisms for promoting new urbanization, and perfecting the support system for strengthening, benefiting, and enriching agriculture and farmers.

Professor Zhang Qi gave a wonderful summary of the lecture, noting that it deeply interpreted many key aspects of rural reforms from a unique policy perspective for the faculty and students present, and clearly pointed out valuable research directions. This not only raised the understanding of rural reforms among the faculty and students to a new height but also played an important guiding role in both academic research and practical exploration.

The lecture was rich in content, presented in a simple and profound way, combining theoretical depth with practical cases, triggering warm discussions and in-depth thinking among the audience. It is believed that in future academic research and practice, faculty and students will take this lecture as an opportunity to actively explore new paths for rural development and contribute wisdom and strength to the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.
