On November 22, 2023, the theoretical lecture "Promoting Chinese Modernization through High-quality Development" was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of Yingdong Academic Hall. This lecture is sponsored by the second-level Party School and Youth League School of BNUBS, co-organized by the Economic Society, and is also the 121st lecture of the "BNUBS Economic Management ·Expert Forum". More than 180 people from the 15th session of the secondary Party School of BNUBS, including students, teachers, party members and party membership activists, participated in the lecture.

The guest speaker of this lecture is Researcher Huang Qunhui. Mr. Huang is a member of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, a member of the Economic Committee, the director of the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Dean of the School of Economics of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a doctoral supervisor, a member of the eighth Discipline review group of the Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council, and the editor-in-chief of Economic Research and Economic Trends. He is also the vice president and chairman of the China Enterprise Management Research Society, a member of the National Manufacturing Power Construction Strategic Advisory Committee, a member of the expert Advisory Group of the Anti-Monopoly Committee of The State Council, a member of the "14th Five-Year Plan" National Development Planning Expert Committee, and a member of the National Metrological Strategy Advisory Committee.

The lecture was moderated by Professor Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS. Qi stressed that high-quality development is the primary task of comprehensively building a modern socialist country, and it is also one of the essential requirements of Chinese-style modernization. At present, China's economy has shifted to a stage of high-quality development. Standing at a new historical starting point, we must deeply understand the significance of high-quality development, continue to push forward the Chinese-style modernization with high-quality development, and make good steps for building a modern socialist country in an all-round way.

First of all, Mr. Huang gave us a brief introduction of the basic connotation and key elements of Chinese modernization. He stressed that the Chinese type of modernization has not only the social and economic development of China and the level of development of the country to reach the advanced and frontier of the world, but also conforms to the national conditions of a huge population, the realization of common prosperity for all the people, the coordination of material and spiritual civilization, the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and the path of peaceful development. It is of great innovative significance to the theory and practice of world modernization.

Afterwards, Mr. Huang deeply analyzed the inherent characteristics of high-quality development, pointing out that high-quality development adheres to the people-centered development thought, and is led by the new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, open and sharing, and building a modern economic system is the urgent requirement of high-quality development and the strategic goal of building a modern power. Combining with detailed and intuitive data chart analysis, he explained the realization path of system construction of modern economy from multiple dimensions, such as effectively promoting the high-quality development of the real economy and manufacturing industry, building a high-level socialist market economy system, improving the basic socialist distribution system, comprehensively promoting the strategy of rural revitalization and promoting coordinated regional development, building a green development system, actively promoting a higher level of opening up to the outside world, and establishing a Chinese-style modern economic operation system.

Finally, focusing on the important issue of "accurately grasping the priority and focus of promoting high-quality development", he put forward policy suggestions such as effectively increasing the share of labor remuneration and the proportion of residents' income, creating a Chinese model of all-round development of people driven by the digital economy, eliminating the shared development gap of new digital infrastructure, building a lifelong learning and comprehensive learning system for the whole society, establishing the leading position of industrial safety policies, and strengthening the institutionalization and coordination of local investment attracting behaviors. He once again stressed that to promote high-quality development, it is necessary to promote the all-round development of people as the fundamental principle, to continuously realize the people's aspiration for a better life as the starting point, and to grasp the priority and focus of economic policies.

After the lecture, Mr. Huang answered questions on improving the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain, emphasizing that China must strive to achieve independent innovation in the process of realizing Chinese-style modernization, and strive to break through the "bottleneck" key core technology problems, and cultivate new momentum for high-quality industrial development. At the same time, Mr. Huang pointed out that the world is facing great changes unseen in a century, and we should enhance our awareness of potential dangers in the process of realizing Chinese-style modernization, adhere to the bottom line thinking, and prepare for danger in times of safety, and always be ready to withstand the major test of wind and waves.

This lecture is not only a political course with high political standing and strong overall awareness, but also a professional course with hard theoretical knowledge and detailed data.
