The International Conference on Economic and Business Development in Emerging Markets Successfully Held

On 26th Aug, 2017, the International Conference on Economic and Business Development in Emerging Markets was successfully hosted by BNUBS at the Jingshi Hall. Nearly 20 scholars from 6 different countries conducted an academic discussion around the issues concerning with economy, finance and management in the development of emerging countries. The conference was presided by Prof. Yang Chengyu. Mr. Lai Desheng, Dean of BNUBS delivered opening remarks, expressed welcome to all scholars and introduced the exchange and cooperation development of BNUBS.

During the presentations on the conference, Vice-principle Prof. Andreas Gisse of University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen am Rhein delivered a speech with the topic “Industry 4.0 applications within a lean logistics framework: A case study analysis of economic and ecological potential”; Prof. Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam Dean of University of Dhaka Business School gave a speech around the topic “Banking for the unbanked as a tool of economic development: lessons from Bangladesh”; Prof. He Liping from BNUBS address around the theme of “RMB internationalization: What China stands now?”; Prof. Elena Zavyalova director of the Department of Economics from MGIMO University delivered a lecture on the theme of “The recent development in Russian economy”.

 

In the following topic-based presentations, 11 teacher and scholars from University of Guelph, University of Dhaka, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Shantou University displayed their most recent achievements on economic growth, Income and wealth inequality, regional trade, public finance management, tax reform, cultural consumption, poverty, etc. After that, they had a heat discussion on those topics. They have reached an agreement on holding a series of conferences in the future and further promoting the exchange and cooperation in the development of emerging markets.
