On July 1-3, 2017, the BRICs Network University Conference was held in Zhengzhou, China. This annual meeting was organized by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, the Education Department of Henan Province, the “The Belt and Road” leading group support office in Henan Province, hosted by North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power. Vice principal Mr. Zhou Zuoyu from BNU was invited to attend the opening ceremony and hosted the IGB conference. Mr. Wang Lei, director of BRICs University Cooperation Center, Prof. Wu Zhongke from School of Information Science and Technology, Professor Wang Xingce, Professor Hui Fengming from the Global Change and Earth System Science Research Institute, and Prof. Cai Hongbo, assistant dean from BNUBS participated the meeting.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Pragmatic Cooperation and International Education”, aiming at effectively promoting cooperation and exchange between members of the BRICs network member universities, and discuss the sustainable development of the BRICs Network Universities together. The specific contents include: International Conference on BRICs Network University Council (IGB), International Subject Working Group on Priority Cooperation Areas (ITG), the Coordinating Committee Conference (NCC). Delegates conducted in-depth discussions on several cooperative areas, such as international summer camp, mutual credits recognition, teacher’s exchange and research cooperation.

Mr. Cai Hongbo took part in the Economics ITG, described in detail about BNUBS international education development in recent years, exchanged our achievements with other delegates and emphasized on the EQUIS accreditation, international summer school, MBA forum and the English Master Project of “World Economy and China”. Delegates have expressed their appreciation to the development of BNUBS and reached a consensus to officially include the international summer school, the MBA forum, the WEC English Master Project into the memorandum of cooperation. They hope to gain practical support from the platform of BRICs Network University in terms of exchange, enrollment and mutual visits.
