At the beginning of the lecture, Dean Lai Desheng expresses his sincere welcome to Minister Zhao Baige and briefly introduces the basic situation. As the former director of the Shanghai Institute of Family Planning and Center for Life Science and Technology Development (USA) of the State Science and Technology Committee, she started to serve as the chair of the Expert Committee of CASS-RDI in 2015 and worked in the field of think tank.

Then, Minister Zhao Baige puts forward that the lecture focuses on three aspects of the characteristics of the new globalization, “One Belt and One Road” initiative and the operation of RDI. She starts from the world state and the opportunities and acknowledges that the trend and challenge are the order, continuous conflict and imbalanced development, and the three challenges for the old order are practice challenges, information globalization and countries’ enhanced awareness for participation. She also introduces the principles of establishing a new order and a new type of development. She continues to point out that the new era features of globalization are information globalization, the flattening of the world and people’s desire for freedom and development, and results sharing. Finally, she shares the meaning and principles of “One Belt and One Road” initiative and ends the lecture with the practice of RDI.

After the lecture, Hu Biliang, Dean of BNU Emerging Market Research Institute and “One Belt and One Road” Research Institute comments that Minister Zhao’s speech is very profound, starting from the international background, and then focusing on the explanation of basic concepts and finally perfectly combining RDI’s practice with “One Belt and One Road”. Then he introduces BNU’s work on “One Belt and One Road”. At last, Minister Zhao Baige answers questions raised by teachers and students. Dean Lai Desheng, on behalf of the College, sends a souvenir to her and thanked her again for her wonderful lecture. The lecture successfully concludes in warm applause.
