The Fifth Conference of the Sixth Council of BNU Alumni Association & the Forum to Assist BNU to Construct “Double First-rate” University Were Held

On December 17, 2016, the Fifth Conference of the Sixth Council of BNU Alumni Association & the Forum to Assist BNU to Construct “Double First-rate” University were held in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province. General Alumni Association President Liu Chuansheng, Vice President Huang Huilin, Executive Director Li Jinchu, Qiu Jiduan, Tang Chao, and etc., the leaders of Minnan Normal University, and the members of the Sixth Council of alumni association, responsible staff of alumni organizations and some alumni representatives at home and abroad attended the conference. Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of BNU Business School, Liu Yang, Vice Director of the Office and Head of Alumni Work attended the conference. Other participants included: Lu Shaohui, 1983 alumni and Head of Fujian Province Alumni Association, He Yixiang, 1985 alumni and Head of Shenzhen Alumni Association, Li Bianhua, 1986 alumni and Secretary-General of Zhangzhou Alumni Association, Li Dingqing, 1988 alumni and Executive Director of Zhangzhou Alumni Association, Fan Fufang, 1994 alumni and Vice President of Qingdao Alumni Association, Wang Hongxin, 2004 PhD alumni and Vice Dean of the School of Government, Shao Xinyi, 2007 alumni and Vice Secretary-General of Chongqing Alumni Association, Zhao Gang, 2009 Alumni and Shen Shuyan, 2010 MBA alumni and member of General Alumni Association and so on.

Liu Chuansheng, President of alumni association, introduced the remarkable achievements made by BNU in talent cultivation, discipline construction, scientific research and innovation, social services, internationalization and other aspects. She stressed that the alumni would assist to promote the construction of “Double First-rate” University with first-class alumni work. She hoped that the alumni organizations would: first, clear development goals and shoulder the mission and responsibility; second, strengthen self-construction and enhance the vitality of the organization; third, actively participate in BNU’s construction and offer advice and suggestions for the development of BNU.

Related staff of General Alumni Association made the 2016 annual report of the Sixth Council, summed up and reviewed the work of the Alumni Association in the past year and introduced the work thinking of 2017. In the conference, outstanding alumni were honored and Liu Yang, a teacher of BNUBS won the award. Some of the alumni organizations exchanged their work experience.

In the Forum to Assist BNU to Construct “Double First-rate” University, upperclassmen Qiu Jiduan and Tang Chao, and some experts made wonderful reports on the topics of focusing on the concept and practice of world-class alumni work, innovating alumni work model and serving the central work of BNU, and working together to contribute to BNU’s development plan respectively.

Closely connecting to the strategic development plan of BNU, the conference aims to deeply explore how to give full play to the role of the alumni organization and fully mobilize the enthusiasm of alumni to enable alumni work to effectively serve the central work of BNU.
