On November 29, 2016, guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, supported by the Ministry of Education and co-hosted by the China Internet Society and BNU Business School, the Award Ceremony of the Ninth National College Students Network Business Innovation Application Competition Finals was held in the student activity center of BNU. Chen Guangju, Vice president of BNU attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Other participants included:  leaders of China Internet Society and the Employment Guidance Center of the Ministry of Education, Li Yanling, Vice Director of BNU Academic Department, Sun Zhijun, Party Secretary of BNUBS and Ge Yuliang, Vice Party Secretary of BNUBS and so on.

Vice President Chen Guangju congratulated the successful organization of the competition. He pointed out in his speech that organizing the National College Students Network Business Innovation Application Competition was a gratifying attempt to deepen the reform of innovation and promote innovation and entrepreneurship. Fostering innovation and entrepreneurship requires strong support from all sectors of society and needs the in-depth participation of incubation institutions, venture capital institutions and enterprises. He hopes that in the future, more colleges and universities will participate in the competition and more enterprises will support the competition, actually realizing mutual benefit and win-win and cultivating more and more innovative entrepreneurial talents for economic and social development.

During the ceremony, industry experts and university teachers and students reviewed the course and shared the fruits of the competition. They also exchanged ideas and discussions on the innovation and development of college practical teaching and the innovation and entrepreneurship of college students. “Confucius said” Cultural and Creative Studio Project of BNU won the third prize in the national finals of undergraduate group. In addition, students from BNUBS also received a special award, a first prize and a second prize and BNU obtained the outstanding contribution award.

 

Since the start of the 9th National College Students Network Business Innovation Application Competition in May, 2016, it has lasted for 6 months from preliminaries, the semi-finals to the national finals, attracting more than 2,000 colleges and universities from all over the country to participate. Among them, 300 groups from over 200 schools advanced to the national final. From November 26 to 28, the national final was held in BNU. As a special research and planning organization, BNUBS selects experts and judges to guide the competition. At the same time, this competition has also introduced a number of enterprises and institutions as the cooperative partners of the competition, such as angel investment, venture capital, incubator, maker space and full-time recruitment groups. Senior experts from these institutions also participate in the competitions as judges, providing guidance and comments for the participating groups.

In the process of deepening comprehensive reform in schools and accelerating the construction of world-class universities and first-class disciplines, improving the system of innovation and entrepreneurship for university students is of great significance. By hosting the National Finals and Award Ceremony of National College Students Network Business Innovation Application Competition, BNUBS has provided an excellent platform for students’ entrepreneurship and innovation.
