2016 BNU Business School WEC Program Orientation

 On September the 12th, the2016 BNU Business School World Economy and China (WEC)English-taught Master’s Program Orientationwas organized in Rear Main Building 1620. Attending Guests included BNU Business School Dean Prof. Lai Desheng, Assistant to the DeanAssociate Professor CaiHongbo, BNUBS Associate Professors Guoji and He Haoran, Associate Professor Wang Lei from the BNU School of Government, Associate ProfessorLi Yonghong from the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) -School of Sport Economics and Management, Associate ProfessorShen Meng from the Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) - Business School, as well as BNUBS International Student coordinator Li Liya and BNUBS WEC program head teacher Liu Shuxiu. First and Second year WEC students as well as all exchange students for the2016 Autumn semester were invited to attend this event. Hosted by Mr. CaiHongbo, the orientation attracted around 60 people.

 

Dean Lai began his opening speech by welcoming all students, then briefly introducedthe BNU Business School, encouraged everyone to cherish this time and study hard, also wishing all students to have a pleasant time here in Beijing. Mr. Guo Ji then introduced the two WEC courses that he teaches and expressed his expectations to the new students from all over the world. Following after was WEC First-Year-Student Representative Christian Streil (Luxembourg) and Second-Year-Student Representative Robbie Peeters’(The Netherlands) Speeches. Christian expressed that he sincerely looks forward to attending the WEC program, hoping that he would make great progress through learning and living here. Robbie summarized his experiences of studying here for the previous year, described BNU as “home” and suggested all students to activity communicate with their teachers and classmates. Head teacher Ms. Liu then presented her PPTs on BNU Business School, the WEC Program and a guidance on how to deal with cultural differences in order to better fit into the new environment. The event then ended in a warm round of applause.
