The 134th Session of BNUBS Expert Forum by Professor Lu Zhengfei Was Successfully Held

On the afternoon of November 4, 2024,BNUBS held the BNUBS Expert Forum (No. 134) in Conference Room 9406 of Jingshi Building. This lecture was given by Professor Lu Zhengfei, a Changjiang Scholar appointed by the Ministry of Education and a doctoral supervisor at Peking University Guanghua School of Management. The lecture was hosted by Professor Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, and more than ten teachers and students from the School participated in the exchange activity.




The theme of this lecture is "High Leverage, Deleveraging, and Leverage Manipulation". Firstly, starting from the basic situation of macro leverage ratio and micro leverage ratio in China, Lu Zhengfei deeply analyzed the relationship between the two, and comprehensively analyzed the causes and wide-ranging impacts of high leverage problem in Chinese enterprises from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Next, Lu Zhengfei explored whether there is excessive debt in state-owned and non-state-owned enterprises from a long-term and short-term perspective. Subsequently, the lecture focused on the motivations, implementation effects, and challenges of enterprise deleveraging, exploring the core issues and response strategies in the deleveraging process. Finally, through detailed data analysis and typical cases, Lu Zhengfei guided the teachers and students present to think about the motives, operational methods, and potential consequences of corporate leverage manipulation, presenting a vivid academic feast of leverage manipulation to the teachers and students present.




Associate Dean Professor Hu Conghui summarized Lu Zhengfei's lecture. Hu Conghui highly praised Lu Zhengfei's unique insights on cutting-edge issues in enterprise leverage management. He believed that this lecture not only broadened the knowledge horizons of teachers and students in enterprise leverage management, but also provided effective guidance for deleveraging practices in the current economic environment, which deeply inspired the teachers and students present.




Finally, Qi Yudong once again expressed his gratitude to Lu Zhengfei for his wonderful speech, believing that this lecture shared the cutting-edge research results in the field of leverage management in China, deepened the systematic understanding of macro and micro leverage issues among teachers and students, and greatly benefited the research and practice in fields such as economics and management. Amidst the enthusiastic applause of teachers and students, the 134th session of the "BNUBS Expert Forum" came to a successful conclusion.
