BNU Business School - Martin Luther University Academic exchanges week

On October 14th, 2013, Martin Luther University(Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, MLU) Law and Economics School’s Professor, Martin Klein and other 21 people visited our school and implemented week-long academic exchange activities. Our school’s dean, Lai Desheng, deputy dean, Yang Chengyu, and the director of foreign affairs, Xie Jia, received the visitors.

Dean Lai Desheng, and deputy dean Yang Chengyu expressed a warm welcome to the German professors and students, and they briefly introduced our school’s and our universitiy’s teaching and research conditions. Professor Martin Klein said Beijing Normal University has a strong academic atmosphere, and he hoped to exchange teaching and research experiences through this visit and to establish a long-term cooperative relationship.

MLU's visit reception work was divided into three parts: academic lectures, company visit and tour. From October 14th to 16th, our school’s professor He Liping, professor Yang Chengyu and associate professor Zheng Feihu respectively made a lecture on China’s financial, economic and Trade between German and China to the visiting teachers and students.

There were more than 20 undergraduates, graduates and overseas students from our school participating in this activity, and we organized these overseas students of International Master program from “World Economy and China” and German students to have a symposium on China - EU photovoltaic products trade dispute and other hot issues. From October 16th to 17th, accompanied by our students, German guests visited the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall and other tourist attractions, and every place left a deep impression on the guests who is the first time to visit China. On the 18th, with the assistance of the German guests,teachers and students from our school, together with the German delegation visited Volkswagen Finance Corporation and the Jing Feng Science and Technology Group, and we closely felt the modes of operation German-owned enterprises and state holding enterprises.

This time MLU visited our school was at the invitation of deputy dean Yang Chengyu. In October, 2012, our school established cooperation intention with MLU for the first time. In May 2013, deputy Yang Chengyu visited MLU at the invitation of professor Martin Klein, then, he talked with professor Klein and identified the group visit plan. MLU’s visit is the first large-scale international teacher and student exchange team that our school received in this year, our school had a total of nearly 10 teachers and more than 30 students participated in academic exchanges, and there were a number of students taking part in the reception work, realized the good inter action with foreign guests. German guests gave a very high evaluation to our teachers' academic levels and students’ enthusiasm for scientific research.

Martin-Luther Halle-Wittenberg University (German: Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, MLU) is a German national research university, located in Halle and Wittenberg in the eastern part of Germany. It is the merger of two universities in 1817, the older one is Leucorea university established in Wittenberg in 1502, and the newer one was built in 1694 in Halle. Famous alumni including Georg·Cantor, Hermann·Ebbinghaus, William·Weber, Gustav·Hertz, Rudolf·Clausius, Emir·Adolf·von·Behring,  etc.
