Contemporary Issues in Accounting Research

一、课程简介

本课程依托于北京师范大学研究生院“国际学者承担研究生教学项目”，系会计系学术型硕士生“会计前沿问题研究”的国际教学部分。主要内容包括：

（1）专题一：Financial Reporting and Regulation

（2）专题二：Integrated Internal Control and Financial Reports

（3）专题三：Corporate Sustainability: Integrating Performance and Reporting

（4）专题四：Corporate Governance and Ethics

（5）专题五：Forensic Accounting and Financial Reporting Fraud

（6）专题六：Private and Not-For-Profit Organization Governance and Reporting

二、课程目标

This course is designed as a discussion-based seminar to provide postgraduate students with an understanding of accounting theory, practice and empirical research methods. However, the primary focus of the course is on empirical accounting research. The objective of this course is to develop and improve your ability to assess and conduct empirical research in accounting by examining past and current research and exploring future research.

三、授课教师简介

Zabihollah Rezaee is the Thompson-Hill Chair of Excellence, PhD coordinator and Professor of Accountancy at the University of Memphis and has served a two-year term on the Standing Advisory Group (SAG) of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Prof. Rezaee has published over 200 articles in well-recognized academic and practitioner journals such as: the Journal of Accounting and Economics; Contemporary Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Theory & Practice; Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance; Accounting Horizons, Strategic Finance; and the Journal of Accountancy, among many others. He has presented over 210 research papers at universities and regional, national and international meetings and has received numerous research grants from various sources. He currently serves on the editorial board of several journals and has reviewed papers for many journals, meetings and organizations.
