课程内容：
Course Outline (15 lectures of 45 minutes each)
1) The basic concepts of income inequality measurement (Lecture 1)
2) The normative approach to inequality measurement
- the concept of "equally distributed equivalent level of income" (Lecture 2)
- the Atkinson and Kolm indices (Lecture 3)
3) The Gini index
- Statistical definition and graphical interpretations (Lecture 4)
- The Gini social welfare function and the concept of deprivation (Lecture 5)
4) Entropy related inequality indices (Lecture 6)
5) The decomposition of income inequality
- Decomposing the Gini Index by income sources (Lecture 7)
- Decomposing the Gini index by population subgroups (Lecture 8)
- The Shapley approach to inequality decomposition (Lecture 9)
6) The measurement of income mobility (Lecture 10)
7) The measurement of social mobility (Lecture 11)
8) The measurement of uni-dimensional poverty (Lectures 12 and 13)
9) The measurement of multi-dimensional poverty (Lecture 14)
10) The measurement of inequality in health (Lecture 15)
Jacques Gabriel SILBER简介：
Silber 教授是以色列巴伊兰大学经济系的荣誉退休教授，1975年博士毕业于美国芝加哥大学。研究专长包括收入不平等和贫困的测量、歧视经济学和劳动力市场的分割。
他是Journal of Economic Inequality的创刊主编，并担任了长达7年的总编辑。在2011-2013年担任经济不平等研究学社（ECINEQ, the (International) Society for the Study of Economic Inequality）的主席。
Silber 教授的很多文章发表在国际顶级期刊上，如Journal of Political Economy，Review of Income and Wealth等，其主要著作包括Handbook on Income Inequality Measurement, The Measurement of Segregation and Discrimination in the Labor Force, The Many Dimensions of Poverty and Quantitative Approaches to Multidimensional Poverty Measurement等。
