It leads to a master degree in economics. (http://www.mike.aau.dk/About+the+Programmes/MIKE-E+Programme/).
The MIKE-E Development Track
The new track starts beginning of September 2014. It has as special focus how innovation and knowledge can contribute to economic development. It is associated with the Globelics Research Network and it is initiated and organized by the Globelics Secretariat (see www.globelics.org).
Application-Deadlines for September 2014 intake:

Visit http://www.mike.aau.dk/ for more information about the programme, requirements and the application procedure. Any questions on the form and content of the new specialisation may be addressed to Kirsten M. Kristensen (kmk@business.aau.dk).
A few examples illustrate topics to be studied:

  • How can innovation and competence-building contribute to inclusive development?
  • What role for national education and university systems in a globalizing learning economy?
  • How can strategies promoting innovation make natural resource based growth sustainable?
The aim is to conceptualize, describe and discuss how building systems of learning, innovation and competence building (LICS) at different levels (local, regional and national) can serve as important elements of development strategies.
