Background

     

      With a view to globalization and China's "Going Out Strategy", top talents with global vision and high versatility are highly in need. Therefore, with the donation from the renowned Hong Kong entrepreneur Dr. Chung Hon Dak, BNU established Maxdo Program in January 2013.

    

     Maxdo has the vision of advocating innovative talent training models. By providing professional training in international business, laws and related disciplines, Maxdo aims to cultivate elites qualified for the national development and export-oriented economy.

 

 

Goals

     

      Maxdo does not only aim to train young leaders in the academic disciplines of international business foreign languages, but also nurture them into top talents with cultural sensitivity, nation's loyalty, innovative ideas and global perspectives. In Maxdo Program, all major courses in the fields of Economics, Management, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, Business and other related subjects are all delivered in English and the foreign language courses are delivered in Spanish/Portuguese/French/German. These courses are open to all Maxdo students and international students from partner universities abroad.

 

 

About Dr. Chung Hon Dak

 

Dr. Chung Hon Dak, with over twenty years of experience in property development, enterprise and financial investment, is the Chairmanof The Maxdo Group Limited in Hong Kong. He is also a member of the standing committee of the 10th CPPCC of Hunan Province, and the chairman of Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

 

Dr. Chung has an enthusiasm for social service and is dedicated to charity, disaster relief, donation, and cultural relics and facilities protection. He also established Zhou Guangzhao Foundation to award young and middle-aged researchers and institutions that have made progress in science and technology, or great achievements in economic and social development.

 

Dr. Chung has received many honors and praises from home and abroad for his great contributions to education. He is the honorary chairman of the University of Hong Kong Foundation, as well as a member of the Court of the University of Hong Kong, the University of Nottingham and a member of Board of Directors of Northeastern University in China. In 2006, he was awarded as the honorary fellow of the University of Hong Kong. In addition, he was the prize winner of Yale University and received honorary doctoral degree of laws from the University of Nottingham. He always tries his best to support scientific researches in universities as well as teacher training programs. He also assists students with financial needs and has been providing funds for over 30 primary schools in China.

 

From 2011, Dr. Chung began to cooperate with BNU through China International Cultural Exchange Foundation and established the Mingde Teachers’ Education Foundation.

 

On January 21, 2013, Dr. Chung donated to BNU through China International Cultural Exchange Foundation, and set up Maxdo Program; he took on the role of Vice President of Board of Directors of the College.

 

On November 27, 2016, an honorary doctoral degree certificate was conferred on Dr. Chung by BNU pursuant to the provisions of the “Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees” in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the fields of education, science, technology and culture, especially the cultivation of talents in BNU.
