题目：Influnence of Inter-organizational Information Communication on Company Performance

Abstract

As one of the most substantial changes of modern business management, today’s companies no longer compete as solely autonomous entities, but rather as supply chains (Lambert et al. 1998). The objective of my research is to develop insights into effective ways to facilitate inter-organizational communication and ultimately, to improve supply chain compliance and company performance. Structural equation modeling has been applied to analyze data.

The research is composed of three empirical studies. Study 1 presents the influence of transaction attributes and governance structure on communication willingness and behaviors. Study 2 explores the interrelationships between communication willingness, communication behaviors, communication quality, and perceived communication benefits. Study 3 aims to unfold the influence of perceived communication benefits on company performance, and the mediating role of supply chain compliance. This seminar focuses on Study 3.

Introduction of the presenter

Guangqian Peng is a PhD researcher in Business Administration Department, Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Her current research project is on “inter-organizational communication: antecedents, supply chain compliance, and performance”. Her future research aims to focus on multi-disciplinary area, including but not limited to ‘how companies’ information management and supply chain management influence companies’ strategy and performance’. She becomes an assistant professor in 1999 in China. She is also the guess assistant professor for the international master course of ‘case study’ in Wageningen University. She has (co)published two books and several articles in peer-reviewed journals, and presented her works in several countries. Her recent book is to be published in the Netherlands in June 2011.
