SpeakerGuanming Shi, Professor and Director of VISP and MSPO, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics.Teacher Shi received his Bachelor's degree in International Finance from Fudan University and his PhD from Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, UC Berkeley in 2005.  In the same year, he joined University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics where he served as assistant professor, associate professor and professor, and has been the director of the department's graduate Admission Committee and graduate Program Committee for a long time, as well as a member of various academic committees of the School.

 

 Ⅱ. Introduction of the Lecture Content

 

 

         Introduce the 3+2 master's degree program and MSPO master's program between The School of Economics and Management of Beijing Normal University and the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics of University of Wisconsin-Madison

 

         Share experiences on applying for and studying master's and doctoral programs in Economics in American universities

 

        Share experience on career development planning of economics graduate students

Ⅲ. Introduction of the Program

According to the requirements of the training program, students majoring in Economics, Finance, Business Management, Accounting and International Trade in BNUBS, who are selected by UW-Madison after program selection can go to UW-Madison for further study in the fourth academic year and postgraduate study at The Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics as participants in Visiting International Student Program. After obtaining an undergraduate degree from Beijing Normal University, students can apply to pursue graduate studies in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Students who meet the requirements of graduation and degree conferment within the specified time will be awarded the diploma and degree certificate of our university.  Those who have met the requirements for graduation and degree conferment from the other institution will receive a master's degree from the other institution.
