Cultivate Talents in the Bay Area and Gather Strength to Create Greater Achievements­—— BNUBS held the 2022 Advanced Seminar on Professional Master Talent Cultivation

On January 26, BNUBS held an advanced seminar on professional master talent cultivation with the theme of "Cultivate Talents in the Bay Area and Gather Strength to Create Greater Achievements". The seminar included a keynote in the morning and a roundtable in the afternoon. It was conducted in an "online + offline" format (all outside experts will participate online).

  

Wang Shoujun, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of Beijing Normal University and director of the Management Committee of Zhuhai Campus, welcomed the experts attending the meeting. In his speech, he introduced the development of Zhuhai Campus in detail, and pointed out that the cultivation of professional degree and master's talents in economic management should serve the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, actively integrate into the overall situation of national development, and cultivate application-oriented high-end talents in economic management. Wang Shoujun, Vice President of Beijing Normal University, hopes that this seminar will help the development of professional degree and master talents training in Economic Management. He wishes the seminar a complete success.

  

Mr. Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, introduced the development history and goals of BNUBS, as well as the achievements it has made in recent years, especially the "Double First-Class" construction and the "One Body and Two Wings" development layout of the school, focusing on promoting the positive exploration of high-quality development of the discipline of economics and management. He thanked the other universities for their strong support to BNUBS. He hoped that the experts attending the meeting could guide the cultivation of professional master's degree talents and jointly provide talents support for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The invited keynote speakers included Zhang Xueyong, Dean of the School of Finance, Central University of Finance and Economics; Lan Qingxin, Associate Dean of the School of International Economics and Trade, University of International Business and Economics; Zhi Xiaoqiang, professor and doctoral supervisor of Renmin University of China, Secretary General of the National Teaching Steering Committee for the Teaching of Accounting Graduate Students.




  

Under the background that the development of digital economy has become a national strategy, Prof. Zhang Xueyong said that the Central University of Finance and Economics trains high-end financial talents by focusing on the cultivation of students' scientific spirit, strengthening the management of talent cultivation process and closely following the needs of the industry.

  

  

Professor Lan Qingxin made a systematic analysis of the problems encountered in the process of talent training for master of International business, and believed that only by keeping up with the needs of economic and social development and constantly innovating the talent training mode, can we cultivate international business professionals who can adapt to the complex international economic, political, cultural environment and national development needs.

  

  

Professor Zhi Xiaoqiang shared his experience on the reform and innovation of MPAcc education for accounting masters. He introduced in detail the reform idea of "123+N" and the capability framework of "9+1" of MPAcc education. He believed that the reform of MPAcc education has achieved remarkable results, and it is necessary to continue reform and innovation in the future, and do a good job in top-level design so as to cultivate outstanding accounting talents with "integrity and innovation".



Zhong Xin, director of Professional Master Education Center (Zhuhai), made a work report on the characteristics of professional master programs, enrollment and talent cultivation.

  

  The roundtable forum was moderated by Professor Zhong Xin. Among the invited guests at the roundtable forum were Wang Jinbin, Executive Deputy Secretary and Associate Dean of the School of Economics, Renmin University of China; Wang Tianyi, Associate Dean of the School of Finance, University of International Business and Economics; and Dong Wang, director of MPAcc Project, School of Management, Zhejiang University. The three experts had in-depth exchanges and discussions on issues such as "guarantee measures for high-quality students, training links for professional master's talents, construction experience of internship base, measures to improve the quality of dissertations, and optimization plan of joint training mode of the North and south campuses". Associate Professor Yang Dan, Associate Professor Hu Conghui and Associate Professor Zheng Feihu from BNUBS reported the results of the seminar respectively.

  







Cai Hongbo, the vice president of Beijing Normal University, made a conclusion at the end. He believed that the leaders and experts from the other universities had an in-depth discussion on many common and individual problems in the training of professional master talents, which provided valuable experience for us to build the characteristics of Beijing Normal University based on the Bay Area. He once again thanked the leaders, experts and teachers attending the meeting for their attention, support and hard work on the talent cultivation and project development of the three professional master programs in Zhuhai Campus.

 

  This seminar promoted the exchanges and cooperation in the training of professional master's degree talents in economics and management among the other universities, and laid a solid foundation for Juli to build a first-class professional degree construction point in economics and management, and to train top-notch professional master's degree graduates in economics and management.
