The International Seminar of "Enterprise Digital Transformation: International Comparison and Chinese Practice" Was Held Smoothly

On April 15, 2023, the international seminar of "Enterprise Digital Transformation: International Comparison and China's Practice", sponsored by BNUBS and undertaken by the Department of Digital Economy and Management and the Research Center of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Competitiveness, was successfully held in Beijing Normal University. Francesca Spigarelli, professor at the University of Macerata, Italy; Lai Youwei, president of Meituan Research Institute and Vice Chairman of the Service Industry Expert Advisory Committee of the National Development and Reform Commission; Ma Shuzhong, director of China Digital Trade Research Institute, Zhejiang University; Wu Xuliang, Chief Economic Adviser of Tencent Research Institute; Yingying Zhang Zhang, professor at the International University of Japan; Fernando Ravelo Guillen, a researcher at the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain; Feng Xiangzhao, a researcher at CCID Research Institute, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China; Li Xianjun, associate researcher, Institute of Industrial Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Feng Chen, assistant professor, School of Economics and Finance, Xi 'an Jiaotong University; Cai Hongbo, Associate Dean of BNUBS; Jiao Hao, Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management and Director of the Research Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Competitiveness of BNUBS; Zhou Jianghua, Director of MBA Education Center; Tong Luqiong, Associate Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management and other experts and scholars attended the meeting.

Cai Hongbo, Associate Dean of BNUBS, delivered the first speech. He mentioned that with the in-depth development of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, the wave of digital transformation of global industry is accelerating, and digital economy has become one of the core competitiveness of many countries in the world. The Party's 20 National Congress report proposed to "promote the deep integration of digital economy and real economy", which pointed out the direction for the digital transformation of Chinese enterprises. Therefore, based on the actual situation in China, through international comparison and drawing on the experience and lessons of the developed economies in the world, this meeting aimed to boost the digital transformation of Chinese enterprises.

Jiao Hao, Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management of BNUBS, presided over the first stage keynote speech. Prof. Francesca Spigarelli, with the title of "Enterprise Digital Transformation: Practices in Europe and China", proposed the use of blockchain technology to redesign value chains, and based on a case study of an Italian start-up in agriculture, explained how core actors are using blockchain technology to build consensus and trust in the agricultural supply chain. President Lai Youwei of Meituan Research Institute delivered a speech entitled "Meituan's Practice and Thinking on the Digital Transformation of Living Service Industry", sharing Meituan's practice, practice and thinking on promoting the digital transformation of living service industry in combination with Meituan's practice.

The second stage of the keynote speech was presided by Feng Xiangzhao, a researcher of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China CCID Research Institute. Ma Shuzhong, Dean of the China Digital Trade Research Institute of Zhejiang University, with the theme of "From Multinational Companies to Global Companies: "Interpretation Based on the Perspective of Digital Economy", built a new theoretical paradigm of the digital economy era of international business around eight aspects, including the return of home country's location advantage, the return of parent company's competitive advantage, the ecological network iteration global value chain, the significant network externality, the substitution of synergy effect for network effect, the inclusion of international entrepreneurship and innovation, the realization of tacit knowledge, and the separation of time and space of digital services. Wu Xuliang, chief economic consultant of Tencent Research Institute, elaborated around "Innovation Economics in the Digital Era", and believed that to promote the innovation of digital economy, we need to seriously consider the relationship between technological innovation, business innovation and policy innovation, with the support of technology and the guarantee of business model and system. Yingying Zhang Zhang, a professor at the International University of Japan, presented data and examples of digitalization in Europe, focusing on four areas: skills, infrastructure, connectivity and government public services. She also shared the digitalization model of BBVA Bank in Spain and BIZUM business Center in Madrid.

Tong Luqiong, Deputy Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management of BNUBS presided over the third stage keynote speech. Fernando Ravelo Guillen, a researcher at the Carlos III University in Delhi, with the theme of "Digitisation of Business: "Based on the Perspective of Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Rights", pointed out that the development of AI still faces some problems, including legal issues, ethical issues and responsibility issues. The development of robots would also involve the identification of creators and copyright issues, which should be studied and solved from the national level. Li Xianjun, Associate researcher of the Institute of Industrial Economics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, shared several thoughts on the integrated development of large, small and medium enterprises driven by digital economy, including the concept of the integrated development of large, small and medium enterprises and the internal mechanism, path and possible model of the integrated development of large, small and medium enterprises driven by digital economy. Zhou Jianghua, Director of MBA Education Center of BNUBS gave a speech entitled "Motivation for Digital Transformation of Family Enterprises", which deeply discussed the motivation, mechanism and influencing factors of digital transformation of family enterprises in the Chinese context. Feng Chen, an assistant professor at the School of Economics and Finance of Xi 'an Jiaotong University, delivered a speech titled "Reform of Tax Inspection System and Adjustment of Enterprise Capital Structure". He took group companies as research objects to deeply analyze their debt transfer activities.

Finally, Tong Luqiong, Associate Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management, BNUBS, made a summary speech of the forum. She thanked each speaker for their wonderful speeches and pointed out that the in-depth discussion and exchange on the theme of "Enterprise Digital Transformation: International Comparison and Chinese practice" was undoubtedly a feast of both academic and practical experience. At this point, the international seminar of "Enterprise Digital Transformation: International Comparison and Chinese Practice" came to a successful conclusion.
