​The Teachers and Students of BNUBS Went to Tencent Headquarters in Beijing to Carry out the Mobile Class of “Introduction to Digital Economy”

On March 9, 2023, guided by Qi Yudong, Han Lili, Jiao Hao and Zhou Jianghua, a group of undergraduates of Grade 2022 of BNUBS paid a visit to Tencent headquarters in Beijing. This visit was part of the practical education of “Introduction to Digital Economy” taught by Dean Qi Yudong.



The teachers and students visited the exhibition hall of Tencent headquarters in Beijing. The staff introduced Tencent's development history, organizational structure and six business groups in detail, and led the teachers and students to visit and experience the driverless technology at the forefront of the industry, data center construction and Tencent Cloud enterprise overview. In the industrial Internet exhibition area, the staff introduced in detail the enabling situation of Tencent in travel, retail, industry, medical and other industries, and achieved a number of breakthroughs in digitization of government affairs, industrial quality inspection, smart retail, medical and health care, cultural and tourism industry, smart campus and financial risk control. With cutting-edge technology, solid technology and easy-to-use products, Tencent effectively promotes the value co-creation of digital technology and the real economy, fully demonstrating Tencent's keen sense of smell and strong technical strength in digital industrialization and industrial digitization, enabling individuals and institutions to benefit from the development of science and technology, and injecting strong momentum for high-quality economic development.



Chen Weixuan, senior researcher of Tencent Research Institute, made a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of Tencent's digital economy case from four aspects, including efficiency, innovation, employment and skills, and shared his thoughts on technology and business from three aspects of data, algorithm and computing power of the "iron triangle" of digital economy. Wu Xuliang, chief economic advisor of Tencent Research Institute, shared his experience and understanding of college students' academic planning and employment choice in the era of digital economy. During the question session, students actively asked questions from the aspects of basic and application innovation, deep integration of real industry and digital economy, and the relationship between innovation and monopoly. Liu Yanjun, vice president of Tencent Research Institute, and Zhang Xueqin, deputy secretary general of Tencent Research Institute, patiently answered questions for students. In the end, Mr. Qi gave a speech in which he expressed his sincere thanks to Tencent for providing "Mobile Classroom". He hoped that the students could arouse their interest and enthusiasm in digital economy research or mass entrepreneurship through this visit and the study of "Introduction to Digital Economy" course, so that they could play their role in the field of digital economy in the future.





Through this "Mobile Classroom to Tencent", the students all said that they gained a lot and were inspired a lot. When the knowledge in the books was converted into examples in front of them, they not only deepened the understanding of the course content, but also made the students better understand the cutting-edge technology and application scenarios in the field of digital economy, which greatly enhanced their interest in learning and research enthusiasm for digital economy.
