On March 15, 2023, BNUBS held “Face to Face with the Dean” Forum with Freshmen Representatives. Dean Qi Yudong, Party Secretary Sun Zhijun, Associate Party Secretary Han Lili, Secretary of the Youth League Committee Chang Xinyang, Party member Wang Jun, shoulder counselor Zhang Huilin and representatives of the 2022 undergraduate, master and doctoral classes attended the forum. The meeting was chaired by Han Lili, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee.

At the meeting, the representatives of each class expressed their opinions on the difficulties and suggestions in the aspects of academic guidance, career planning, professional education and campus life since enrollment. The teachers carefully listened to and recorded the students' specific needs in competitive scientific research projects, interpretation of postgraduate policy, paper writing, professional database, offline activities and other aspects. They also explained in detail the questions of common concern such as professional training objectives and employment prospects, which helped the students to open up their thoughts and strengthen their faith.

Qi Yudong pointed out that talent training and student work should be student-oriented. Holding the Student symposium gives an effective opportunity to improve the quality of talent training and the management and service of the School. In view of the common problems of freshmen, the Student Work Office should strengthen the summary, timely adjust and improve together with relevant departments, so as to create more favorable conditions for the growth of students. At the same time, he also hoped that all class representatives play a good role as a bridge, timely convey the spirit of the meeting and respond to the demands of students.

Secretary Sun Zhijun put forward two hopes for the new students in the summary: first, encourage students to develop independent ability, give full play to the role of students' self-management, make good use of existing resources to solve their own problems; The second is to maintain a sober and rational understanding of ideology. Under the collision of different views, we should learn to distinguish the truth from the falsity of information, set up lofty ambitions as an administrator of normal university, and lead the students around to form correct understanding by example.

In the " Face to Face with Dean" meeting of freshmen representatives, representatives of each class shared all kinds of problems collected and actively discussed solutions with teachers, which not only expressed their own perplexities and appeals, but also allowed teachers of the School to understand students better and provided new ideas for future work.
