Inheriting the Centuries-old Classics and Creating Future Together——The Alumni Development Forum of BNUBS(2023) Was Successfully Held

On June 17, the Alumni Development Forum of BNUBS (2023) with the theme of " Inheriting the Centuries-old Classics and Creating Future Together " was successfully held. The forum was consisted of five sub-forums, namely, the Main Forum, the Digital Era Enterprise Management Sub-forum, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Sub-forum, the Education Operation Sub-forum, the Human Resources and Career Development Sub-forum, and the Cultural and Creative Industry Management Sub-forum. Alumni, external mentors and faculty and student representatives gathered to share the latest industry trends, research results and innovative ideas. On the same day, the School also carefully arranged a variety of interesting campus activities for alumni, such as campus punch card, school history museum visit, so that alumni can review their study time and recall unforgettable moments. The seniors who took photos at the punch point smiled and thanked the forum for realizing the alumni's expectation of "coming back to their Alma mater and getting together".



The opening ceremony and main forum of the Alumni Development Forum was held at 13:30 on the same day at Yingdong Academic Hall. Fan Wenxia, Secretary-General of the Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University; Qi Yudong, Dean of BNUBS, Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee; Cui Xuegang, Associate Dean; Han Lili, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee and Zhou Jianghua, Director of the MBA Education Center attended the forum. Ding Rui, a 1986 alumnus of the School, Associate Secretary General of the Alumni Association of Beijing Normal University and Vice President of the Alumni Branch of BNUBS; Yang Yi, Class of 1995, founder of North Tiantu Aviation Technology Development (Beijing) Co., LTD; Wang Tianlong, Class of 2004, Associate Director of the Macroeconomic Research Department of The Research Office of the State Council; Deng Xiaoying, MBA alumni of 2008 and senior manager of Operation and Development Center of China Railway Co., LTD; Wang Gang, 2008 MBA alumni, NetEase Youdao Future Education Research Institute President, representatives of tutors, business leaders and teachers and students attended the forum. The opening ceremony was presided over by Cui Xuegang, Associate Dean of BNUBS.

At the opening ceremony, Dean Qi Yudong first made a speech, and he introduced the development achievements and talent training goals of the School in recent years. Dean Qi stressed that BNUBS advocated "student-oriented" principle and regarded student development as the ultimate goal and the highest standard to measure the level of the School. Over the past 40 years, tens of thousands of graduates from all over the world have become national examples and social pillars with their professional and wisdom, made due contributions to the economic and social development of the country, and won a reputation for the School, becoming a beautiful business card of the School. He hoped that the vast number of alumni can focus on the opportunities and challenges of today's world under the background of the era of unprecedented changes in a century, share their own experience, exchange and learn from each other, mutual achievements and common development.

In her speech, Secretary General Fan Wenxia reviewed the key work of the Alumni Association in recent years, and reiterated the guiding ideology of the School Party Committee on alumni work, that is, "helping students become a better version of themselves." She stressed that the Alumni Association has always taken service to support the growth of alumni as a long-term important work, and has also introduced a number of support measures for alumni such as "alumni class", hoping that everyone can feel the concern of the Alma mater, gather their heart and strength, and strive for development together.

Subsequently, alumni representatives, including Yang Yi, Deng Xiaoying and Wang Gang, delivered keynote speeches respectively. Through the introduction of the company's core business, Mr. Yang introduced the attending alumni the current development of the industrial drone industry and drone education and training industry. In combination with her learning experience in the BNUBS and her work experience in the world's top 500 enterprises, Deng Xiaoying summarized the characteristics of transformation and upgrading of world-class enterprises, such as adapting to the development of The Times, maintaining independent innovation, remaining proactive, daring to compete with the strong, and strengthening control and security. Combining his own industry insights, Wang Gang shared the three major sections of "the coming trend of education digitalization, three practical directions of education industry, and the methodology of education digitalization response".

At the end of the opening ceremony, Associate Dean Cui Xuegang made a concluding speech. He mentioned that in the face of great changes unseen in a century, the way individuals obtain information and knowledge has undergone fundamental changes, teaching has become a multiple empowerment for students, and college governance has been moving towards platformization and digitalization. He hoped that they can achieve collaborative development with alumni and further promote alumni to make greater contributions to the construction of BNU and School governance through the forum.

After the opening ceremony of the forum, five thematic sub-forums were held at the same time in the JINGSHI HOTEL and the JINGSHI Hall.

The theme of the Digital Era Business Management sub-forum was "Digitalization Leads High-quality Development of Enterprises", which was presided over by Tong Luqiong, Associate professor and Associate Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Management of BNUBS.

At the forum, Du Xiaozhong, Chairman of Du Xiaozhong Consulting; Tong Chao, Head of financial BP of Du Xiaoman Finance; Duan Kaisheng, Project Director of Westinghouse Transportation Group in China; Zhang Xiangfei, President of Beijing Zhixin Microelectronics Energy Efficiency Monitoring Division; Huang Lei, Consulting Director of Real Estate Research Institute; Shen Lirong, General Manager of Shengren International Brand Consulting; and Fan Yong, Vice President and Senior Partner of Peking University respectively, shared their own experience in business management. They all noted the possible impact of the development of new technologies such as ChatGPT on enterprises, and called on enterprises to train more personnel with updated and iterative thinking. In combination with the cases of well-known enterprises' digital transformation, they made a unique analysis of the framework logic, strategic planning and implementation path, core values and challenges faced by enterprises' digital transformation. The systematic and professional exposition and the cited cases disassembled allowed the participants to have a deeper understanding of the digital development trend.

The theme of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship sub-forum was "Innovation-Driven, Entrepreneurial-Led - Exploring Future Business Models", hosted by Ms. Zhu Yanchun, associate professor of the Department of Digital Economy and Management, BNUBS.

At the forum, Wang Chunqiao, executive president of Guangcai 49 Holding Co., LTD.; and Lu Jun, Director and General Manager of Beijing China International Travel Service Co., LTD; Song Yanyan, founder of Beijing Ofa Technology Co., LTD.; and Gao Jun Tong, founding partner of Beijing Jihe Law Firm and Xie Qin, founder of a box of fun and vice president of the former New Oriental Education and Technology Group, shared their insights and experiences in innovative business models, digital transformation and technological innovation. Through case studies, industry analysis and keynote speeches, the participants deeply understood the impact of the changing business environment and technological innovation on traditional business models, and were inspired to deeply think and explore the opportunities and challenges of future business models.

The theme of the Education Operation sub-forum was "New Development and New Trend of Education Industry", which was chaired by Ms. Yang Juan, professor of Economics Department of BNUBS.

Alumni Yang Yi and Wang Gang, who had shared at the opening ceremony, continued to deepen their sharing content in the sub-forum. Subsequently, Li Fang, Doctor of Education of Beijing Normal University and consultant of Psychological Counseling Center; Deng Qing, founding partner of Parent-Child Cat; Yang Fan, Director of the development Office of Yuanchu Project of Zhongguancun Internet Education Innovation Center and Executive Secretary of Yuanchu Education Laboratory; Bao Haogang, Assistant Researcher of Basic Education Research Institute of China National Institute of Education Sciences; Zheng Liangdong, STEM curriculum expert, STEM curriculum consultant of Tsinghua High School, Pearson STEM expert; altogether five guests, shared their experience. Education experts, combining their professional knowledge and rich practice cases, pointed out the importance of family education, wisdom education, people-oriented education and educational innovation for young people and even the whole society.

The theme of the Human Resources and Career Development sub-forum was "Activating Individuals, Empowering the Future", which was hosted by Ms. Qian Jing, Professor of BNUBS.

At the sub-forum, Zhou Quan, founder of Beijing Spring and Autumn Enterprise Service Technology Co., LTD.; HRVP Shen Jie, a leading enterprise in the new consumer products industry; Yang Wei, founder of Beijing Huaqing Ziqiang Technology Co., LTD.; Suo Yan, General manager of Beijing Wanbao Ruiqi Enterprise Management Co., LTD.; Tian Yuan, Vice President of Yicheng High-tech Group Executive; HRD Qi Dian, Well-known education group and Ji Ying, Senior Director of Brain Health Strategy and Marketing at Peking University, seven guests from different industries, shared their experiences and encouraged everyone to seize opportunities in the workplace, empower themselves, and build an unforgettable "career" so that they can have the freedom to choose in any situation! In the guest interaction and exchange session, Ms. Qian presented several questions that fresh graduates were more concerned about in finding jobs, and the on-site guests gave their opinions on these questions one by one.

The theme of the sub-forum on the Management of Cultural and Creative Industries is "Learning Culture to Illuminate the Way and Create the Future", which is chaired by Mr. Zhou Jianghua, Associate Professor and Director of MBA Education Center of BNUBS.

Song Weicai, Professor of School of Arts and Media, Beijing Normal University, Director of China Film Industry Research Center; Wu Shitao, General manager of All United Tongxin Culture Media (Beijing) Co., LTD., and a non-genetic inheritor of folk songs; Wang Digong, General Manager of Beijing Olympic Economic Technology Development Co., LTD; Mei Feng, President of Zhongguancun Real Estate Chamber of Commerce Industrial Upgrading Institute; Chen Wei, Director of the Content Cooperation Department of IFLYTEK Co., LTD; Zhang Haijun, Operating Partner of Love Avatar Technology; Cheng Hao, Director of Grand Canal Yunping Platform and Chairman of Zhuang Tourist Education Technology; Yu Fangping, Executive Officer of Dream Vision Film (Beijing) Co., LTD., attended the sub-forum. The guests shared their experience respectively and imagined the future development direction of the cultural and creative industry, opening a new world of innovation and exploration in the field of cultural and creative industry for everyone. After the guest sharing session, the MBA Cultural and Creative Club of Beijing Normal University was officially established.

The Alumni Development Forum brought together the wisdom of alumni, promoted alumni exchanges and cooperation, and gave full play to the functions of alumni in the governance and development of the college, which has promoted the brand building of Beijing Normal University and the development of alumni career!
