The China Yangtze River Delta Trip for International Students Was Successfully Held

Diversity leads civilizations to exchange, to learn from each other, and develop through mutual learning.In order to enhance international students' love for traditional Chinese culture, understanding of economic and social changes in modern China, and understanding of China's scientific and technological innovation, BNUBS held the "China Yangtze River Delta Trip" for international students to conduct research and practical activities from April 26 to 30.

This research trip was jointly led by Professor Hwy-chang Moon of BNUBS, Teacher Huang Ruoran of the International Student Office, and Associate Professor Zheng Feihu. A total of 17 international students from 11 countries participated in this activity. They went to Nanjing and visited Yuhuatai District, Qinhuai District, Xuanwu District, Qixia District, successively. Then they went to Yixing, Jurong, Yangzhou, Xinghua and other places in Jiangsu and were warmly welcomed.

Their first stop is for moral education. The International students arrived at the Yuhuatai Martyrs Cemetery to listen to the revolutionary spirit told by young pioneers; they visited the 1865 Morning Light Cultural Creative Park to feel the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage on the spot, and stopped by the China Imperial Examination Museum to explore the secrets of China's civil service system and the peak of Chinese culture and history.

The second stop of research practice is for science and technology education.International students experienced the Nanjing model of international youth friendly community in Zhongshan Fang Science and Technology Cultural and Creative Park. Qi Wei, Vice Chairman of Qinhuai District CPPCC,Zhao Yang, Director of Qinhuai district CPPCC Population resources and environment Committee, Wang Xiaoquan, Baixia High-tech Zone Party Working Committee member and minister of Qinhuai silicon lane, Zhang Zhiying, vice minister of Baixia High-tech Zone Qinhuai silicon lane Department, Liu Kai, Associate secretary of Qinhuai Youth League District Committee, Zhou Yunjiu, second-level researcher of Ruijin Road street, Yang Mu, chairman of Zhongshan Fang Science and Technology Cultural and Creative Park, and representatives of the Organization Department of the District Party Committee, the District Education Bureau, the District Science and Technology Bureau, and the Science and Technology Innovation Department of Baixia High-tech Zone attended the event. Entering the Xuanwu District, the international students interacted with the teachers and students of the Department of Science and Technology History at the Museum of Chinese Agricultural Civilization of Nanjing Agricultural University. They walked into Jinling STYLE and engaged an in-depth dialogue with the relevant person in charge. The third stop of research practice is for cultural education. In Yixing Zisha Gesheng Pottery Village, students enthusiastically participated in the one-stop non-body inspection, and experienced the Chinese artisans' independence and care from the beating, adhesion to the formation of zisha clay. In addition, by watching the international spread of purple sand culture and tasting the quiet mood of purple sand tea art, international students had deep understanding of the broad and profound Chinese culture.

In Dazhuang Village, Jurong City, at the invitation of the Student Affairs Office (Department) of Nanjing Normal University and the Intensive Training College, the international students attended the "Biodiversity Agricultural Practice" lecture held by Zhao Yafu, the model of The Times and the national poverty alleviation model, and had a live exchange with teachers and students of Nanjing Normal University on “The Chinese and foreign youth talking together about the model spirit of the era”. Professor Moon made a wonderful speech on the spot, and the students all asked questions.Li Zheng, second-level inspector of Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Association, Jing Fei, director of Nanjing Normal University Student Work Officeattended the lecture and made a speech. Mo Chunju, Associate Secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of Nanjing Normal University Intensive Training College, presided over the activity.Zhou Ya, Minister of Human Rights and Military Affairs of Nanjing Normal University and deputy Minister of Student Work Department; Wang Hui, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office; Sun Maohua, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office and Deputy Minister of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee; Zhang Jie, Director of Rural Technical Service Center of Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology; Feng Jie, Executive Vice President of Jiangsu Public Relations Association and Chief consultant of Nongshi Xingxin Rural Development Group; Jiang Jiao, secretary-general of Jiangsu Agricultural Society, and Niu Yisheng, director of Rural Revitalization Work Committee of Jiangsu Public Relations Association, participated in the activity.

The last stop of the research practice is an ecological tour.At the Grand Canal Museum, international students have a strong interest in the political, economic and cultural effects of the Grand Canal, which runs through the north and south of China, and Professor Moon praised it as "the passport of Chinese civilization to the world". The international students then went to the Lixia River area, Dongluo Village and Chenyang Village of Qiantuo Town, Xinghua City, to experience the unique globally important agricultural cultural heritage of Xinghua and the world irrigation engineering heritage "Dutian" style and its characteristic rural construction results, and watched the intangible cultural heritage of Jiangsu Province "Banqiao Dao Qing" performance. After interacting with the cultural circles in Xinghua, the research practice was successfully concluded.Zhou Guocui, Vice Chairman of Taizhou CPPCC and Deputy Director of Taizhou Housing and Construction Bureau, Chen Linfeng, Standing Committee Member of Xinghua Municipal Committee and Minister of Publicity, Wu Hongde, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of Taizhou Characteristic Rural Development Promotion Association, and Chen Rongcai, Party secretary of Qiantuo Town, participated in the activity.
