Time :2018-09-21

From July 10 to 11, 2018, BNUBS organized the two-day social practice of “World Economy and China (WEC)” for students of English Master Program to Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

When the G20 Summit was held in Hangzhou in September in 2016, the main venue—the Hangzhou International Expo Center became a sparkling city card. On the first day to Hangzhou, the teachers and students of the social practice visited the center with Chinese style buildings that amazed the world and experienced the great power diplomacy. On July 11, they went to Longmen Ancient Town, the former residence of Sun Quan who lived in the ancient three kingdoms period. This historic town, in the strong clan atmosphere with unique folk customs, retains the most complete and extremely rare ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The residents here are kind and nice and the customs are unique. The town is a typical landscape garden town with defensive and extremely divergent street as its framework and the labyrinth like traditional residential settlements centered with the ancestral halls, representing the heritage of traditional Chinese clan. During the visit, students experienced the unique folk customs of places to the south of Yangtze River, and the profound Chinese history and culture.

The students for the social practice expressed that experiencing the inclusive Chinese diplomacy and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the south of the Yangtze River, they felt the integration and collision of ancient and modern cultures which presented full understanding of China’s glorious past and present.
