In the afternoon of November, the 3rd 2017, “Explore the New Era of China: Database Construction and Utilization----Seminar on the Establishment of “China Economic and Social Investment Analysis” Column in the Journal of Management World was held at BNU. The seminar was jointly held by BNUBS and the Journal of Management World.

At the beginning, Dean of BNUBS Prof. Lai Desheng and Deputy Chief Editor of “Management World” Mr. Shang Zengjian delivered opening remarks. Prof. Lai Desheng pointed out that the construction of database, the interpretation of social development, the construction of disciplines, the theoretical innovation and methodological innovation through database are particularly important. The two themes of the conference are how to use database and how to make database report.

Prof. Sun Zhijun, Secretary of Party Committee of BNUBS and Deputy Chief Editor Mr. Shang Zengjian presided over the seminar. Prof. Li Shi and Prof. Gao Minghua from BNUBS, Prof. Wu Qiong and Prof. Chen Xinxin, Associate Researchers of Peking University, Prof. Xiao Hongjun, Associate Researcher of China Academy of Social Sciences, Prof. Shi Qinghua from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Cheng Hong from Wuhan University, Prof. Shi Yaojiang from Shaanxi Normal University, Associate Professor Xue Jiling from Inner Mongolia University made introductions to the contents, development, contribution, value, difficulties and future development direction of their databases.

At the end of the conference, Mr. Shang Zengjian and all the experts discussed around database construction and put forward some suggestions on future development. The seminar ended in a warm round of applause.
