I. Cultivation Orientation
With the tenet of “Save the country with economy, promote business and culture”, BNU MBA aims at cultivating talents of business administration with humanistic spirit and international vision.
II.Cultivation Goals
To cultivate humanistic and creative high-level business administration talents who have international visions, strategic insights, mastery of theories, methods, and skills of modern management, and insights into the development law of Chinese market.
III. Credit Setting
According to the relevant regulations of BNU Graduate School, BNU MBA project will adopt the professional degree management method. Total credits for degree application shall not be less than 45. Students should collect 4 credits from public compulsory course; no less than 16 credits from basic degree course; no less than 12 from professional degree course, and 1 credit from curriculum practice.
IV. Curriculum
The MBA courses are grouped into four categories, which are public compulsory course, basic degree course, professional degree course and professional elective course.
Public compulsory courses are established under the requirement of National MBA Education Steering Committee. They are English and Socialist Economic Theory and Practice. Students should collect 4 credits from them.
Basic degree courses are about the basic knowledge and skills of management that should be mastered by MBA students and are selected from the core courses determined by the National MBA Education Steering Committee. There are 8 professional degree courses: Managerial Economics,Strategic Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Management Information System, Finance & Accountancy, and Operations Management. Students should take all of these courses to collect 16 credits.
Professional degree courses emphasize the basic knowledge and operating skills of the specialty and include courses about professional knowledge, skill and practice. They are: Educational Administration, Leader and Leadership, Case Analysis of Educational Operations Management, International Education Development, and Education Reform and Development. Students should collect 12 credits from these courses.
Professional elective courses reflect the necessary extension of relevant professional knowledge. Students can take courses according to personal interests and needs and collect no less than 12 credits. See Specific courses in Course Schedule (professional elective courses will be added or adjusted according to the situation of teacher).
V. Curriculum Practice
Each student should at least complete one case analysis report with over 5,000 words about education operations and management. Case background, solutions, and theoretical basis should be provided. Student can collect 1 credit for the report.
VI. Degree Paper
MBA student should complete the writing of degree paper. Student should at first write a qualified paper and pass the thesis defense to get a master degree. Students can adopt monographic study, investigation report, enterprise diagnosis, and case analysis report as their report form. The detailed requirements of the degree paper should be subjected the relevant regulations of professional degree management imposed by BNU Graduate School.
VII. Learning Methods and Requirements
The learning method is 2-year full-time learning with massed learning in spare time. Course learning will be arranged in the former three semesters and the degree paper will be started from the third semester.
