[文章摘要]：The role of social networks for the labour market outcomes of rural-urban migrants in China is investigated. The size and quality of the network is measured using unique survey data and employed to study their wage effects. The findings indicate that a larger network (size) and having a closest contact that is employed (quality) are associated with higher wages for migrants who found a job through informal channels. These results are corroborated by testing the same models for individuals who found the job through more formal channels.
