Located in Redwood Shores, California, Oracle is the world’s biggest database software company. Larry Ellison is the founder. In 1989, Oracle formally entered the Chinese market and owned over 25,000 users and 1,500 partners up to now.

On December 11, over 30 BNU MBA students arrived at Oracle and received a cordial welcome. Except for rows of all-in-on PCs, “Iron Man” is undoubtedly the most noticeable thing in the experience area. “Iron Man” has surfaced several times in Oracle Open World and Larry Ellison has even done a guest appearance in Iron Man 2. For Oracle, the “Iron Man” that organically combining humanity with machinery may be the best example of integration design of software and hardware.

Yang Yiguang, the senior consultant manager of Oracle, introduced that Oracle China has been developing at an amazing speed over the past five years and such achievements are inseparable from Oracle’s acquisition strategy. Oracle today is no longer just a database software company, its cloud service and integrated system have made it a comprehensive enterprise-level IT service provider. As for cloud computing, Oracle Cloud can provide all-around three-layer services includingSaaS, PaaS and IaaS. From hardware and software platform to cloud computing, Oracle has showed its core strengths, which are comprehensiveness, openness, and integration.

Oracle has led the transformation of global enterprise business, and what changes has occurred to the management of its internal workers during this process. Wang Xin, the human resources director of Oracle China, shared how technologies facilitate the practice and reflection of human resource reform. According to her, Oracle has 5,800 employees now. With the development of the times, four changes have occurred in current talent situation, which are shortage of high-skilled talent, shortage of mature talent, fiercer competition due to the presence of stronger economic layout, and unavoidable managing diversity as different generations living in one world. Under such circumstances, we can neither make our valuable talents stay nor recruit the talents we wanted. Therefore, it would be particularly important to understand our own talents. We should empower the employees, evaluate the potential of talents, and change the “size-fits-all” regulatory framework.
