Dream and Achieve How To Realize Your Career Goals

In the evening of February 27, Lance Tanaka, our special guest, and his team shared a wonderful speech titled “How To Realize Your Dream and Career Goals” with BNU MBA students in Conference Room 1620 at the Second Main Building. Professor Lai Desheng, the dean of BNU Business School, attended the Lecture and showed his welcome to Mr. Tanaka. Sun Shuping, the director of Administrative Service Department of BNU MBA Education Center, hosted the Lecture.

  Lance Tanaka is the founder and the managing director of Asia Executive Resources Ltd, a consulting company providing executive training for top international enterprises. He used to serve as vice operating president of Nike and Pepsi in Asia in his career spanning over 2 decades. After establishing the consulting company, he devoted himself into offering training for executives in Asia. Over 800 managerial staff from famous enterprises including McKingsey, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Lenovo and Morgan Stanley joined his training.

Mr. Tanaka firstly discussed topics like “Truth of Happiness”, “How to Be Yourself”, “How To Achieve Self-development”, “How To Conduct Self-discovery”, “How To Build Dream”, “How To Make Plan”, and “How to Make Your Move” with students. These topics are all about problems faced by students. Whether students from Full-time Class or students from On-the-job Class all need a balance in study, work and life. Mr. Tanaka pointed out that once you want change yourself, you must at first establish new habits. The motivation of change, the precise action, the specific time schedule, and the practical plan are important preparation.

In the end of the Lecture, Team DNA issued questionnaires to all students attended, asking them to answer questions about financial objective, health condition, interpersonal relationship and work-life balance with careful consideration. Many students expressed that it is a great opportunity for self-examination, self-grooming and restart. They hoped that such great lecture could also be held in the future to help them figure out their development. 

At last, Dean Lai extended sincere gratitude to Mr. Tanaka for his wonderful speech and presented him with a souvenir.
