Characterized Specialty

BNU MBA focuses on utilizing characterized specialties to lead the development of MBA project and utilizing specialty characteristics to lead the innovation of MBA project.

Following the concepts of market orientation and internationalization demands, BNU MBA is the first one to promote Management Consulting, the innovative specialty, within the country. The overall course design and cultivation model are carefully orchestrated by an international professional and experienced team. The chief consultant of the project is Professor Bock who enjoys a great reputation in international consulting industry. In the process of the cultivation, we have invited several senior consultants from famous domestic and international consulting enterprises to open specialized courses and recruited partners of well-known consulting companies to act as off-campus advisors in order to make students closer to market. In addition, we have also established practice base with famed domestic consulting enterprises including ALLPKU, He Jun Consulting, and Adfaith Management Consulting.

Education Operations Management is a specialty promoted based on the traditional advantage of BNU and the big market of education operations management. School has always been regarded as public institution; therefore, the training of school administrators often focuses on the training of teaching skills. However, with the rapid development of education industry, even the public schools will need to learn from and introduce the concept and knowledge of enterprise management to conduct management. We have established and opened MBA Spring Class of this specialty for two years, targeting at cultivating elementary and middle school principals and other managers in Haidian District. We have also opened MBA Autumn Class of this specialty since 2014. Not only students from schools all over the country, but also managers in educational training industry can apply for the Class. The teachers for the Class include not only senior professors in Business School and the BNU, but also outstanding entrepreneurs from educational training enterprises.

Human Resources & Applied Psychology is an innovative specialty promoted based on human resources management, the traditional specialty of MBA education. Recent years, the market development has set higher requirements for human resources managers. Knowledge and skills in general enterprise management are now far from enough for human resources managers, they should have a deeper understanding of people’s psychology and a good mastery of knowledge and skills in applied psychology, for example, psychological consulting, psychological guidance, psychological assessment, and so on. Psychology has always been a preponderant discipline of BNU, ranking first in domestic universities. We integrate some courses of Applied Psychology into human resources management to form the Human Resources  & Applied Psychology, which aims at cultivating high-quality human resources management talents with profound knowledge in psychology.

With the rapid development of global cultural innovation industry, BNU has took advantage of its preponderant discipline and promoted the Cultural Innovation Industry Management. Cultural innovation industry is a creativity-centralized industry emerged under economic globalization. It contains several branch industries like film and television, animation, video, media, visual and performing arts, craft and design, costume design, soft and computer services, and so on. Culture Development Program during the National 11th Five-Year Plan Period has clearly put forward the state’s major task in the development of cultural innovation industry. Beijing has also listed the cultural innovation industry as one of its pillar industries. As the industry has a promising future, it will create heavy demands for management talents. BNU has some unique advantages in many branch fields of this industry. The international writing center led by Mo Yan, the Beijing Student Film Festival, and the first Chinese animation specialty have all embodied the profound accumulation of BNU in this industry. Except for the integration of BNU’s preponderant resources, we have also recruited a batch of outstanding entrepreneurs of this industry as off-campus advisors to improve the career development of students.
