The 2nd BNUBS International Summer School was Successfully Launched

At 6.00 PM on 7th July, 2017, the opening ceremony of the 2nd International Summer School held by BNUBS was successfully started. The theme of this year’s summer school is “Business Opportunities in the Belt and Road”. The summer school program has officially received 18 students from four universities namely University of South Australia, University of Zaragoza in Spain, Lanzhou University and Beijing Normal University.

On the opening ceremony, we are very glad to have welcomed Mr. Wang Liyong, deputy director of the Contemporary World Research Centre of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC and deputy general secretary of the “Belt and Road” Think Tank Cooperation International Union Committee; Mr. Justin Cohen, director of the Uni-SA Shanghai Office; Ms. Ai Xin, deputy director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of BNU; Mr. Wang Lei, director of the BRICs University League of BNU; Mr. Cui Xuegang, Associate Dean of BNUBS; Mr. Ge Yuliang, vice-secretary of the Party Committee Sub-office; Mr. Cai Hongbo, assistant of the Dean of BNUBS; Ms. Zhang Xuan, secretary of the Youth League Committee Sub-office; Prof. Zheng Feihu, Prof. Guo Ji, Prof. Zhang Haiyan, Prof. Xu Hui, Prof. Li Kun and Ms. Li Yingshu from BNUBS, Ms. Li Jingya, Ms. Shang Yihong, Ms. Tian Hongjun and Ms. Yang Tianyun from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of BNUBS.

Deputy director Ms. Ai Xin extended her heartfelt appreciation to the hard work of BNUBS. She introduced the time-honored history of BNU and the achievements of internationalization in recent years. She sincerely hopes that all the students can take this opportunity to connect their own career path with the counties’ development alongside “the Belt and Road”.

Associate Dean of BNUBS Mr. Cui Xuegang introduced the history and development of BNUBS, and especially emphasized on the development in education cooperation and internationalization. He made a summary to all the fruitful results that BNUBS has achieved with Uni-SA in terms of internationalization, and expects a closer tie in the future.

Uni-SA teacher representative Justin Cohen expressed heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and students who have prepared for this program. He is also expecting more in-depth and broad cooperation with BNU, and wish students can learn more knowledge and gain some friendship through this experience.

 BNUBS teacher representative Guo Ji welcomed all the students and introduced the significant meaning and influence of “the Belt and Road” initiative in his speech. He pointed out that joining the summer school is one of the best approach to witness and understand the “B&R” initiative. He is especially looking forward to the interactions and communications with all the students and announced several instructions.

BNUBS undergraduate Wu Lanjun majoring in Business Administration said in her speech that she is the volunteer in this activity and also one member in class. This is a very precious opportunity for her to communicate with foreign friends, exchange different ideas, cultures and establish friendship.

 Finally, students from BNU presented traditional Chinese dance, Chinese Kongfu and violin solo to the audience. All the students are invited to give a self-introduction. The performances received a warm round of applauses.

 From 9th July to 21st July, students will participate in course study, topic discussion, case study on International Business and China, Chinese Entrepreneurship, Chinese Economic Development, Globalization and “the Belt and Road”, and company visit to Juan Ju De Group and Lenovo Group. The final assessment will be based on their final presentation.
